DD2 (11 months) has had a low grade fever (hovering around 100) going on 3 days now. She has no other symptoms and no teeth coming in as far as I can tell (teeth usually also come with a runny nose and loose stool). She has "sick eyes" and is obviously very uncomfortable even after pain reliever/fever reducer and she still is on the warm side after fever reducer too. I'm just not sure if there is actually something wrong with her and she needs to see the ped or if I just need to wait it out. Thoughts?

For us a fever with no other symptoms usually meant ear infection...

The lethargy and obvious discomfort three days in would make me want to get her checked out more so than the low grade fever. I would bring her in.

I agree. I would probably take her in to get ears checked. Even if it turns out to be viral at least you have piece of mind. Well somewhat because seeing LO's sick is so hard.

@Mrs D: @Truth Bombs: @Canoli: thanks ladies. I was worried it might be ears too. My husband keeps insisting that she's fine but thats his reaction to everything I've ever worried about ever so asking him is no help! lol i think I'll bring her in today, just in case.

@Mrs. Sunshine: My husband is the same and always thinks DS is fine. Since it has been 3 days, I'd go just to make sure.

There is a fever virus going around here that presents the same way you described. I would call the ped's line and ask if they have seen any viruses similar to what your daughter is experiencing. If not, I would bring her in for an appt.

@Mrs. Sunshine: we are going on day 7 of a low grade fever, only symptom is lethargy/sleeping a lot. We went in yesterday and they ordered bloodwork and a urine sample since everything else was clear. I would take her in, I thought it was a vax reaction at first but then I thought ears.

@Mrs. Sunshine: poor thing. Hopefully as soon as the antibiotics kick in she'll start feeling better!
My older son (4 years old) got recurrent strep last spring and this spring. The first time he got it he had a fever and the other times the only way we knew is when his voice changed. Sometimes it's so hard to figure out what's going on.
