This is in no way aimed at bees answering threads with helpful, gentle advice that another bee might be better off finding another provider.
This is aimed at IRL people, who often have no experience in this, saying it all know-it-all style, "Well, I would just find a different daycare!" Like it is easy, or something.
Um, am I the only one who sweated blood to find the best daycare I could afford? Am I the only one, who in that process, realized that good, affordable daycare is sparse? In my life, switching daycare would be a monumental crap shoot. Just sayin'.

Daycare is ridiculously expensive near me so we are going with a family friend. It's somewhat inconvenient because she lives 20 minutes away in the wrong direction but she's cheaper! I get it. We visited many day cares trying to decide!

We are in the midst of a daycare search and you're right, it is SO difficult and stressful! Like you, we want to find the best that we can afford. It's hard enough to find one, let alone a replacement. I hope everything gets better for you!

Daycare is such a personal choice, but so often we just have to go with the best option available, affordable and workable. It's a compromise! I find comments like that a bit dismissive

I had an awful time trying to find day cares!!! In the end I never even found one, even though I contacted several they were all full.

@Cara M. 17: oh, no, I feel like ours is still a good fit, although if you look at my posts there have been bumps. I have just been hearing a lot of this lately and you can just see the poor mama crumble over the thought of trying to find another one and wondering if she is a terrible parent if she compromises with the one she is at, you know?

Ugh. We spent over six months on four different waiting lists before we got LO a place! I would curl up and cry if I had to find a new one. It's hard!!

There is no childcare in my town. I lost my sitter last fall and have been making it work with cobbled together care for the last two years. People with older kids or no kids (my coworkers) just don't get it. He's on the wait lists but those lists don't move. If we have another one I am setting my schedule up to not need care until it is 18 months old and can go to preschool.

Ours are all wait listed, so there's no way we could switch even if we wanted to!

Good childcare is so hard to find! We're starting DD at a new daycare b/c we're moving an hour away in October. I am already so nervous about what happens if it doesn't work out. Searching again to find yet another daycare might put me over the edge!
