LO is 2 months old and this weekend will be the first time I'm away from her for the whole day, DH and I are going to a theme park. I was going to take her with us but due to the heat etc I am having my mom come and babysit. Firstly I kinda feel guilty leaving her at home all day but I think I deserve one day off. Anyway I am afraid I will be so engorged by the end of the day! How will I survive without pumping? If I do take my pump I dont think I will get the chance to pump. How did you breastfeeding moms survive a day without your baby

I pumped in the car when I'd be outside and away from my baby all day. I would bring a large button down shirt (from my husband) and put that over my pumping bra in the car so it looked crazy but not too insane if someone passed by. I would imagine somewhere in the theme park they would have a facility for pumping. Ask when you get there if they have a lactation room for patrons.

Can u take a cooler and pump during lunch?
I was never away from my Lo for more than 4 hours until she turned 10 months old. DH and I went out after she went to bed.Glad you're having some alone time with you hubs! It'll be good for you and fun!

You will definitely want to pump just as often as you would feed your baby. The car works, you can also see if the park has a mothers room you can use. Disneyland has a mothers room with a specific area for pumping. You want a cooler with ice and you just refill the ice as needed. It may also be considered medical if you discuss it with the park.

I also think you should do your best to pump at least a couple of times during the day or it may affect your supply (since LO is still so young). I know it'll be inconvenient and super hot in your car but I don't think it's a good idea to not pump at all the entire time you are away.

If you're going to a Disney theme park, they definitely have Baby Care Stations (on Main Street) so you can pump. Even if you don't save/store it, I would just pump so your boobs aren't about to burst when you get home.

Check the theme park's website: like @Habesbabe said all 4 Disney World theme parks have a baby care center where you can go and pump (and I think leave your pump during the day as well). We have a theme park by us (Cedar Fair owned) and they too have a baby care center although their first aid would also allow someone to pump if necessary (baby care center is pretty small and doesn't really have a private area).
The first time I was away from LO while still nursing she was 7m and I didn't pump because it was a class and breaks weren't that long. We were gone about 10hr including drive time and by the time we got home I was so uncomfortable. I would definitely suggest pumping because with you LO being only 2m you are likely to leak if you don't.

Yes I do leak all the time!! which is why I constantly have to wear nursing pads. I go through boxes of them! Lately she has started sleeping about 7 hours each night and I dont pump during that time. I will take the pump and see if I do get the chance to use it. But I wont be able to carry it around with me. I will have to leave it in the car which might be a long walk from most of the rides... sigh... we'll have to see how it goes

I would definitely pump in the car before and after - if only to relieve yourself and prevent leaking. At 7 weeks I would totally soak a shirt if I didn't pump or nurse at the 3 or 4 hour mark.

I brought a manual pump with me (since it's easy to tuck in my purse unassembled) and took at least a couple pump breaks so I wouldn't be too engorged.

Thanks guys I did take my pump and only pumped once when we first arrived. There was so much going on by the time I remembered to pump we were about to leave,
just remember to stay hydrated!
