While we are not ready to begin purchasing anything for baby (I'm 18w5d), we may take a look in some stores today to see if we can get a sense of what we like and what sort of budget we may need to plan for.
I'm wondering if you would look first in BRU or BBB if you had the option. Both are right next door to one another and I am not sure if I will like one more than the next. Any starting suggestions are greatly appreciated!

BBB!! Wish we had one closer:( I've been to both and at least compared to the BRU near us, BBB was much nicer. I liked how it had a lot of varieties of things in store without the store feeling crowded and chaotic.

Everyone I know has said the BBB is much more helpful. So, if you want to actually ask someone questions, I would definitely say that.
That said, I recently when to a BRU with really helpful employees so I think it depends on the store.

BBB! We drive 40 minutes just to go there instead of BRU because the staff is much more informed about products. Plus they have a very vast display of strollers and even carry the high end ones which BRU does not. Definitely sign up for their emails to get 20% off an item though.

BBB!! Every time I've been to Babies R Us it's been an absolute nightmare, and their staff is very *not* helpful. That might just be the store near me, but I like BBB WAY better.

OK, back from our trip... and... BBB is the CLEAR winner! Wow, what a difference! BRU was not nice at all, in my opinion, and BBB was really a great experience. I was blown away by the level of knowledge of the staff members and we felt like their items were just so much nicer than at BRU.
Thanks for all of your thoughts! I am now seriously overwhelmed by all of the baby products out there. My husband is set on a stroller, however, and that made the trip worth it in his opinion

@Meggo5: yay for fun shopping trips!! baby stuff can be totally overwhelming. i like that as a nanny, i get to play with lots of other people's baby stuff, then when i have my own i've gotten to try a lot of it out to see what i like =) what stroller did DH pick? that is a tough choice, so sounds like you got a lot accomplished!

@Mrs.Bird: he fell in love with the Baby Jogger City Elite. We truly felt clueless and sort of thought we were going to like a travel system (either Chicco or Graco) and as soon as he saw that the Baby Jogger folded up so easily, he was sold.
It's a bit more expensive up front, but it seems like it might be worth having a stroller that will transition with baby for many years. Who knows if that's what we'll settle on, but he was smitten!

I love BBB. I went in one the other day to purchase a baby shower gift. It was so nice. I wish there was one closer to my house.

BBB. They have so much more. It will be overwhelming .... but worth it.
