Alright... I must admit my first thought when DS was born was a selfish one about me hahaha. I felt like I was going to die while giving birth, so my first thought was, "OMG I cannot believe I just did this! I DID IT!!" Then I kept saying, "I did it, I did it!" lol

When my first daughter was born my first thought was just relief that it was finally over. When number two was born (c-section) was wow that felt weird, is she really out?

"Holy shit." lol
My epi never worked, so I had gas and air (which is laughing gas). I was so stoned out at that point from the gas, hunger, lack of sleep and the pain that I was pretty blank. My mind kind of shut down.

With DS I had an overwhelming rush of emotion but I'm pretty sure my first thought was "Holy cow he looks just like his Dad". Now at the age of 3.5 he look just like me :).

"WHAT? A BABY!" I guess I am the only one in here who didn't really let it all sink in until he came out LOL.

"Huh, I thought he'd be a girl" immediately followed by "whoa, he's huge!"

I was really curious about her hair color. She has dark brown hair like my husband so that was the first thing he told me and I thought - shoot, he won. Then I saw her myself and she looked like a tiny wrinkly version of my husband and I thought whoa, I just gave birth to a miniature version of my husband.

I just started crying and kept saying "my baby my baby" I just wanted to hold her but had to wait because I had a c -section, all I could think about was holding her

I was thinking is he ok? (DS was 6 weeks early so it was a very scary experience)

I'm with @Coco Bee: it was a lot of OMG I did it, followed by, OMG it's a girl. The adrenaline was pumping super hard so I was pretty spun.

Is she alive? We had a bit of a scary delivery and they warned us she wouldn't cry right away but I was terrified and just wanted to know I'd she was ok.

I had an unplanned csection...so my first thoughts were something like:
I need to hear her cry...yay, she's crying! OMG she's huge...she looks like a baby sumo wrestler!

It was all such a weird blur. I had an emergency c-section; I was supposed to be induced, but the baby made it clear after one test contraction that he wouldn't tolerate labor well. But I remember hearing my son cry and telling my husband, "He's quacking!" and being relieved that he was making noise. He was growth restricted and four weeks early, and we had no idea what to expect.
They took him off to do tests and make sure he was ok, but at some point, they brought him over to show me. I was still strapped down and I'm not sure if they were done stitching me up or not, but he was all wrapped up in a bundle and all I saw was his face. And I remember thinking, oh, good, he's cute! And then thinking, am I supposed to be doing something? So I kissed him on the nose (the only part of him I could reach). Then they whisked him off to the special care nursery and I mostly was zoned out with the surreality of the whole experience for the rest of the night.

I was like....I am someone's MOM. It was just really surreal.

mine was relief, then "omg i can't believe she's here!! she's really here!"

(They put me out for the c-section, and I was exhausted after labor.... so when he was born, I didn't even know it was over! I actually didn't know they were going to put me out.)

Honestly. . . I just remember wanting to crawl into a cave and sleep. But then as soon as my baby was on my stomach I had a whole new wave of energy.

I did natural childbirth and was team green. My husband was the one who called out the sex of our baby so my first thought was we have a son! I was on such a natural high that I kept laughing and telling my husband "we have a baby, what are we going to do with a baby?!"
