So in my history of flat irons, I have always just bought what was on hand. The most recent purchase was when we were driving through a small town and I realized that I had forgotten mine, which is my simple go-to hair styling solution, and we were heading to a wedding!
So, that one just died. And it seems that there are lots more on the market now than I remember last time I was searching!
So, does anyone have any insight? Sedu? Solia? Chi? Something else? Hit me with your best thoughts!

I have an Amika and it's fantastic. I have very coarse, stubborn hair and it does agreat job and leaves my hair soft. I've used CHIs before and really hated them. I felt like it took forever and left my hair dry and frizzy.

I'm on my second Chi and have mixed feelings. I feel like it works SUPER well, but I just had to get a second one bc my first one crapped out after 2 years-- which seems a bit short for something that expensive.

I have always lusted after the chi ones, but I didn't realize that they don't have temp controls! That's a big one for me!

I have a Babyliss Pro and it's been great...for over 5 years! I have big, curly hair that I have to flat iron every day. Also, a big factor is my blow dryer which has a straightening attachment. I have to REALLY focus on the roots of my hair and get it completely dry in order for my hair to stay straight (sounds obvious but I was only spending 5 minutes blow drying a few years ago and hated how my hair looked after a few hours).
My CHI's were just okay but each one died after a year.

I have the 1 inch ceramic one by Hai. It has several different temperature settings and works great! I've owned it for over 6 years and haven't had any issues yet. I think I paid $60 for it on Amazon.
