So now that I'm pregnant, we want to cancel our trip to Orlando. Everyone's spending 3 days at Universal (I really don't want to go), and we'll need that money for baby stuff.
I booked flights on Air Canada through Flight Network ($800 total) and was told cancellation would be $75pp. That's reasonable. I said to go ahead with it. Then they say that not only is it $75pp now, there is some sort of extra $200 fee and the rest of it would be given as a credit that expires in a year!!
What? Air Canada's policy is free cancellation up to 24 hours prior to departure. I understand that because it's a third party agent, that I may incur a fee, but losing half the cost of the flights and the rest in credits? No way.
I looked up my credit card, and I don't have trip cancellation insurance on it. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and buy trip cancellation and cancel the flights later.
Under what circumstances does insurance cover cancelled trips? I think pregnancy is an exclusion.
UGH, I'm just so frustrated with this. Any advice?
