I was sick for about a week when I had it last year. BUT I have a compromised immune system so I'm slower to get better/heal. I was given Tamiflu. I was pretty fatigued after maybe 3 days but the Tamiflu helped with my other symptoms. Hope your husband feels better quickly and the flu doesn't ruin Christmas.

I had the flu last year at about 5 months pregnant and took tamiflu. I felt better once I started the medicine but it took a while to feel 100% - maybe like 3 weeks? I think you could still have it at your house, but I would expect DH may not be a huge help. I got tired very easily and just felt run down for a few weeks.

Both my kids had flu over thanksgiving. It was terrible. Could be diff for kids, but our pedi does not recommend tamiflu because it only shortens symptoms 16-20 hours, is very expensive and causes vomiting. Like I said, could be diff for adults than kids!
