My 7 month old has been throwing up 2-3 hours after eating solids for the last 2 weeks. We took her to pediatrician yesterday, and he said to cut out eggs, mango, banana, strawberries, and kiwi. Well, I somehow FORGOT that bananas were on the list, and gave her a pouch with bananas in it last night at dinner. About 3 hours later, she was asleep in her crib. Something told me to look at the monitor- and she was choking on her vomit. Like, couldn't breathe choking. I ran upstairs and sat her up, got her cleaned up, and she coughed and gagged for about 10 minutes after until she fell asleep on my husband's shoulder... It was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. She's fine this morning, but I'm not.
Has anyone had food allergy/sensitivity issues with babies this young? Have they resolved on their own? I'm worried they will get worse instead of her growing out of them. Ped said we would re-introduce those foods at 9 months... but I honestly don't want to feed her any solids at all, I'm so terrified. We do have a prescription for Zantac that I'm picking up today, to help coat and soothe her stomach for the next few weeks- a short term solution.
