Has anyone heard of any foods that are good for fertility? I just picked up 'The Fertility Diet' but haven't had a chance to start it. I'm looking for more along the lines of veggies, fruits, etc. and less supplements and vitamins.
Thanks!

I read that green tea helps with CM (I tried it, and it seemed to help!) and pineapple core helps with implantation.

@winniebee: I do drink green tea every month and, for me, it really helps!

@Mrs.VW: I also took mucinex for the last 2 months we were ttc - 2 tabs a day plus the green tea really helped in the CM dept. for me. Being 31 and TTC my CM just wasn't all that impressive, but that stuff helped!

@winniebee: Thanks - that's good to know! I had tried preseed and when I told my OB/GYN she said she would recommend stopping it. So it's good to know of something else out there to help

I heard that onions make you fertile. I love onions!

@Mrs.VW: Like anything, ask your OB! Mucinex is just an expectorant so I didn't ask my OB about it before using it though. Oops!

Check out naturallyknockedup.com. There's a great list of fertility foods. I am eating organic meats, full fat diary, avocados, eggs, tomatoes, lots of garlic,2 or more servings of green veggies @ dinner, and olive oil. I do take cod liver oil, prenatal and herbal supplements since I'm a finicky eat. I'm extremely close to adding liver to my diet cause organ meats are highly nutritious.

@Mrs. VW - do you mind me asking why she recommended stopping the preseed? Did she say it does not really work?
I've heard grapefruit juice also helps with CM,

@bloved: She just said she had never heard of it and really that she felt like we shouldn't be adding anything to that area. I've still been drinking the green tea since that seems to help with CM and can't hurt. But I stopped with the preseed. Plus my husband wasn't crazy about it either. Said it sort of felt 'numb'. Luckily I didn't NEED to use it.

@Mrs.VW: Mine recommended water before using PreSeed. My doctor's main reason was that it still kills sperm. She basically said it's better to rely on your own cervical mucus for lubrication than outside sources.

@carrieknitscake: that is pretty much what my doctor said, that it's better to use nothing at all.

I went gluten free (for the most part) for about two months and after TTC for 9 months, I got pregnant! I'm convinced that going GF along with some other thing that is why we didn't have to go down the IVF path...
