LO didn't nurse before bed 
I stopped having a letdown, and he stopped seeming to care so tonight I just didn't offer.. and he didn't ask. It's been 17 months in a row of nursing him before he falls asleep (not TO sleep) so.. this is a weird feeling!
Not sure why I feel the need to post - I'm mostly glad it's been a smooth, easy transition but still.. a teeeeensy bit sad!

It's a big change, isn't it? Very bittersweet, but it sounds like also very comfortable for him. Don't worry; he'll still surprise you sometimes by needing you in a big way.

It's so bittersweet when this happens. I remember being ready but was still surprised when he didn't ask. It's also when you realize they are becoming kids and not babies

Awwww it's bittersweet for sure. I still miss nursing A at times and I feel a little sad about it. Glad the transition is going smoothly!

@hilsy85: we're still nursing in the morning when he first wakes -- so not done done yet... but it would appear that's not too far off. i just can't hardly believe it!

Right there with ya! For the first time in more than 4 years, I am neither pregnant not breastfeeding (nor doing both simultaneously). It's a weird feeling.

@scg00387: you never know! Mine weaned down to one feeding a day at 15 months, and we went that way for five more months! We would have done longer but I was ill and really couldn't nurse for a few days and that pretty much put an end to it. I'm sad, but 20 months isn't bad I suppose! I'm actually pretty proud, but I miss that sweet time so much!

@Mrs. Sketchbook: really!! right now he's pretty excited for it come morning, so we will see. i'm pretty lazy - it gives me some more horizontal time so I don't anticipate trying to avoid it any time soon and wean completely

@scg00387: ha that was my motivation for hanging on to morning nursing, but then it just became ridiculous--he would latch on and start climbing over me while latched, and try to wake up DH while latched--not comfy for me! I hope it lasts as long as you both want it to
