Yes! And I kind of always feel bad for people who have 3 girls/3 boys or something like that...I know not in all cases but some with my friends they tried for one more of the opposite gender and got the same!

I have mixed emotions. I have an older brother who is 7 years older! We love each other and hang out but arent so close to where we call each other and so on. We live in the same city so we see each other at family things or our parents house.
Saying that I see some friends who have sisters - with that age gap.. and they are SUPER CLOSE... I take it because they are sisters!?

So ... I would love to have a boy next to have a girl and a boy and get to experience both worlds...
but at the same time I wouldnt mind seeing the bond of two sisters.

Either way we are stopping at two.

@JustlikeHeaven: Me too! I have sisters and we are SO close, and DH is very close with his brothers, and I don't feel like an opposite sex sibling necessarily has the same closeness. So I almost would rather 2 of one so they could have that same closeness. So, I'm just really glad I don't get to choose.

DH really wants a boy but says he won't try for more than 2-- he doesn't want to be outnumbered with 3 girls plus me in the house!

I'm pretty relaxed about this. I do know people who have 3 boys or 3 girls and really wanted atleast on of the opposite gender. Ideally I would like to have at least one of each but if I end up with all girls I'll be ok too

Also, and this is just my personal opinion... I agree with @Justlikeheaven and @Foodnerd81... I tend to think that having one of each is more for the experience of the parents (bc it'd be neat to experience one of each!)... but generally, it seems that sister/sister or brother/brother combos tend to be closer and have a special bond. I have a sister and I wouldn't know what I'd do without her (even though we fought like cats growing up).

I wanted one of each and got two boys. I love having two boys but a part of me still wants a girl...but having three kids without help will probably drive me into insanity! So we're not having anymore.

This is why I really want this one to be a girl. I would be upset with two boys. I have always wanted a girl. So I want this one to be a girl so I don't feel so much pressure for #2, which will be the last.

I have two girls. We plan on having one more kid and everyone thinks we are trying for a boy, but I would really be okay with all girls. I do think it would be fun to have a son, too, though. I guess it doesn't really matter to me that much whether I have sons or daughters as long as I have my kids!

We want one of each, but if we have 2 of the same sex, we've currently agreed to try for a 3rd. However, that's it! After our mc, we're just happy with either sex!

I will take what I can get, but i would really love to have a daughter someday. DH is 1 of 3 boys and i think my MIL, while she loves her boys, kind of wishes she had a girl of her own. Ultimately, we would like 3 kids. We're only baking #1 now though.

I am totally okay with having all girls or girls and boys mixed. I feel once you're in the situation, you don't know anything different so you're totally happy and content either way.

I would love one of each. My family generally has a girl first and then a boy. (my sister, brother, parents, aunts and uncles all had a girl first and the a boy). Weird right?

I would be okay with 2 girls as well, but I would be kind of sad if we had only boys. I've always wanted a daughter

Right now Im pg with a boy. I love him already, but I really want a mother/daughter relationship like I had with my mom.
Hopefully #2 will be a girl.

It used to be my biggest fear to have two boys. I was so scared I would end up like my grandmother, who had FIVE boys before she finally had a girl, thought her luck had changed, and then had two more boys! Now that I'm pregnant with a boy, I'm slightly worried that I'll end up with two boys, but I no longer am afraid of it! Plus I have two boy names I like, and I think it could be fun to raise brothers. I only know what it's like to have an opposite-gender sibling, so it could be interesting to see what my kids lives are like if they are the same gender. AND I could make them share a room longer, which would be nice, haha.

We want one of each, but we'd be happy with a second daughter. Somehow, I have a sneaking suspicion we will.

I'm torn.

On one hand, I think 2 boys would be fun. I'd be the only girl in the house (save our cats), and DH has a great relationship with both of his brothers.

On the other hand, whenever I picture having another baby it's always a girl, and DS taking the role of the over-protective older brother. And tutus and headbands and fun tights and tea parties and (hopefully) having a relationship with her that I didn't have with my mom.

On the other other hand, if we had a girl she'd be super spoiled and super protected...she'd be the first girl born into DH's family in over 75 years. Lots of male cousins and uncles. So maybe I should just hope for another boy!

Yes, big time. We're having a DS as our first, and I'm terrified of having an all boy family. I really want a girl sometime!

After we had our son, we didn't care what the 2nd was because of the reasons everyone else already listed. If we had another boy, my son could have a brother to play with and be close to. If we had a girl, we would have one of each and I would be able to have that special mother/daughter bond that my mom and I have. We really didn't care either way. When we found out #2 was a girl, we were actually alot happier than I thought we would be. I guess deep down inside, I really DID want a girl afterall!

I know my husband has worries about this. We are having a girl and he only wants two kids, while I want three. If we have two girls, we'll definitely have a third and shoot for a boy. But if we have three girls...I know it'll bother him!
