Ugh! I feel like I do it all the time! I always forget to put my ring on when I come to work!
Last night I was doing dishes, and I always take off my wedding ring to wash dishes, so right now it's sitting in my ring dish on my sink! I knew last night when I went to bed that if I didnt move it to the ring dish in the bathroom I would forget it. Low and behold....I did!
Does anyone else do this??

I keep mine in a dish in the bathroom. So before I get dressed I put it on after doing hair and makeup. I still forget mine sometimes and I feel off all day.

I do! That is the exact reason most of the time - taking it off to do dishes. I hate when I forget!

@Smurfette: Glad I'm not the only one....I'm going out to dinner with a friend today after work too! It makes me almost want to run home quick and get it!

I do this every now and then. Sometimes, I'll even leave my engagement ring at home on purpose and just wear my wedding band. I feel like my finger enjoys the break every now and then : ) And all I do is go to work and go home... and everyone here is well aware that I'm married! If I were going out after work though I would be bummed if I forgot my rings.

I hate when I forget something like that-- ring, watch, etc. I never take my wedding and engagement rings off though!

I forget mine in the kitchen sometimes and it throws me off all day. I once went home to get it on my lunch break because I had dinner plans with a friend after work and didn't want to be without it.

@mrs. wagon: I should really start just keeping them on all the time. Do you keep it on for cleaning, dishes, shower, etc? I have a high setting on my engagement ring, so I feel like it would get really gunked up with stuff if I always kept it on.

@mrs. wagon: Really?? I've always been amazed at women who do this. Mine start to bother me by the end of the day so I almost never wear them when I'm home. They go in the jewelry box when I get home and don't go back on until I leave again.

@PBandBaseball: I'm a little embarressed to admit it....but I'm thinking about going home on my lunch and getting it actually...but I live about 17 miles from work....So I know my DH would be pissed that I wasted the gas! hahahah But he should be happy that I want to represent our marriage right?!

I'm pretty good about it, I take my ring off usually right when I get home from work and put it in my ring dish in the bedroom where it stays until the morning. It's when I end up taking a bath and leave it in the bathroom instead that I forget it!

@MrsBrewer: @MamaMoose: yup. I just clean them very often (baby toothbrush and windex under hot running water) and since they're white gold, I do have to get them rhodium dipped about once a year. But I'm of the camp of the safest place for them is on your finger. I even kept them on under my gloves when I went snowboarding-- I didn't want to leave them in my house (burglar while we're on vacation??) or hotel room (please!!!). I have this habit now (after 8 years of wearing a ring, haha) of touching the tips of my thumbs to the insides of my ring fingers several times a day. If I don't feel a ring there I panic. Sometimes when I'm getting a manicure, I take my ring off and put it on my necklace chain, and DURING the manicure I'll have a mini heart attack because my impulse of thumbs to ring finger have detected no ring!!!

@MrsBrewer: I live 9 miles away from work, so it's not as far as your drive but I think you should get it if it will make you feel better.

My wedding ring stays on all the time (it's why I got a plain gold band), but I take my emerald e-ring off all the time! I've definitely forgotten to pull it out of my pocket on a few occasions, and have put it through the wash once...ouch.

The only time I take my e-ring/wedding rings off is when I'm working with raw meat (such as making meatloaf or meatballs) or when I give DD a bath. I always put them back on as soon as I'm done or I panic. Already afraid I'm going to have to go without this pregnancy due to summer swelling, not happy because last pregnancy I wore them up until I was induced when I put them in a little ring bag in DH's pocket until after I was moved to our room and I immediately put them back on.

@purrpletulips: Just wondering, how come you took of your ring when you were induced? Was is due to swelling?

@MrsBrewer: the hospital I went to makes you remove all jewelry so that in the event you have to have surgery it isn't in the way or their responsibility (kinda wish they had mentioned this during the hospital tour because I would have left it at home in our safe). I had to remove my earrings and necklace too.

I just never take it off.
@purrpletulips: Weird, I didn't have my rings on anyway because of swelling so I didn't know that. I've been wearing my DH's ring for a week now (sad that it fits my finger perfectly, boys are supposed to have bigger fingers!) because he's been in the hospital.

@Artbee and Mrsbrewer - I'm guessing it is one of the varying hospital policies. The hosp I was at was of the no food or drinks once you are admitted variety so I wasn't too surprised when they asked just annoyed that they hadn't mentioned it during the tour so I could be prepared and leave my jewelry at home. I was only able to wear my rings until delivery because I had a winter/early spring baby (born 4/1) and had them sized up one time while pregnant.

I forgot a few times when we first got married (2010)... since then, I make sure to take my ring off when I get home from work and leave it in my jewerly drawer every day... and put it on in the morning after getting dressed!
I did, last night, panic when I didn't see my rings. DH and I decided last minute to go out to eat and I'd forgotten that I'd already changed out of my work clothes!
