A couple days ago I noticed a little black mark just below DD's belly button. At first I thought it was some dirt and tried to wipe it off, it didn't budge, so I deduced it must be a small scab, as she's always scratching herself with her razor-sharp nails.

I was just changing her a little while ago and thought I would try to remove it again as surely it was healed enough that it was would just fall off. That's when I discovered it was an insect and not a scab

I've saved it in a ziploc bag and made an appointment with her doctor for 2:40 this afternoon. It's very small, maybe 2-3mm in length. I tried to take a photo but it's too small to get in focus with my crappy point and shoot.

We were at an outdoor wedding this weekend, which I imagine is where it came from. The crazy thing is that we are hyper-aware of ticks (my best friend's sister had a very serious case of Lyme that required very aggressive treatment for a couple years) so we were so careful not to put her anywhere near the grass at the wedding. I have not noticed any sort of rash or bullseye pattern on her.

I feel like such an idiot and I'm so worried for my little girl
