I'm about to start working on my freezer stash so I have a bit of a backup once my maternity leave is over. I'm not sure what the most useful quantity will be to freeze in each bag. Those of you working through your stash what have you found works best?

6 is my ideal number. I also squeeze up to 8 in some bags.

When she was younger I did 4 oz, then moved to 5 oz.

6 oz was just right for us- easy to store so the bags weren't too huge, and the perfect amount even as a bigger baby for him to drink.

I've been doing 2 oz in each bag, haha.
Mainly because I transition him to... err... not breast milk (Xander's allergic to cow's milk, so I haven't figured out what he'll be switching to at 1), I wanted to be able to mix easily without wasting anything, like 6oz BM + 2oz milk, then 4oz BM + 4oz milk, then 2oz BM + 6oz milk, etc.

Agree with 6. For a while I was squeezing 9-10 but then they don't freeze flat.

I never put more than 6 in a bag though.

When he was younger… around 2-5 months I used to do anywhere from 2-4 ounces in each bag (so I could mix and match)… now I always do a solid 5 oz in every bag.

I do 1.5, 2, 2.5, and rarely 3 oz per bag. But our system is different from most, because I work part-time. I pump 4-5 oz before I leave for work, and then if baby needs more before I get home, my husband can quickly thaw a small amount as a supplement. Or on days when my supply is wonky and I can't pump enough, he can use the freezer bags as back-up.

I always did 5oz per bag. It made it really easy to keep track of.

You guys do big bags! I do whatever I pump in a session usually- mostly 3 oz, plus or minus an ounce. I like having different options depending on when and why I'm going her a bottle- sometimes I just want her to have a few ounces to tide her over to a full feeding at home.
But I am a sahm so I'm not building a stash for the long term. So, listen to other people not me :). At almost 4 months I don't think she would eat 5 whole ounces at once.

I find 4 oz bags work best, but I really freeze anywhere from 2-4 oz. I don't have a uniform stash.

I did 5 but wish I had done 2.5 or 3 because we typically mix fresh with frozen to make a bottle

We stayed at 4 oz for the entire time until we weaned (13 mo)

I have a variety in my freezer because he used to mostly eat 4oz so I have 4oz bags and 2oz bags, but now he gets 5oz in a bottle so I also freeze 3oz and 5oz, depending on how much I pump in a session. I like being able to mix and match.

However much LO was drinking at the time. When I first went back to work I froze 3-4oz per bag. It eventually went to 6oz per bag. Now I'm back down to freezing 4oz again because she's drinking less milk and eating solids.

I did a mixture of 3 oz and 2 oz bags. That way I could make a bottle of any size at all by combining bags, and never had to waste any. It worked really well for us!

I started out packing 2 oz at a time since I didn't want to waste. Plus LO was taking about 2 oz per bottle at the time. Eventually I increased to 4 and sometimes 5. LO never drank more than 5 oz from a bottle at a time. He is a rare one though.
I never put more than 6 in a bag though.
