I missed last week so excited to participate this week.
1. My Kamik Olivia rain boots, they're cute, comfortable, and very practical for my job since I'm often out walking in mud/snow taking photos.
https://www.zappos.com/p/kamik-olivia-black/product/7626619/color/3
2. My morning 95-cent, gas-station cappuccino, my favorite way to start the day.
3. My Contigo stainless-steel water bottle, I love that my water stays ice cold.
4. My Kindle Paperwhite... I was actually anti-kindle/pro- real book, until I got one and now I would never go back, I love being able to get a new book in seconds, not having to turn pages, and the built-in light for night-reading. Of course for some reason (probably a toddler) it disappeared from my night stand overnight last night.
5. Thursday-night date nights with DH, we have a long-standing rule that we go out for dinner on Thursdays, and recently started inviting our neighbors, so we have a great night out to socialize.

1. Preordering ebooks from Amazon. I love the anticipation and seeing a new book show up in my Kindle app.
2. "Book club" - I have a book club with friends where we just get together and socialize and drink wine. We don't actually read books, but it is great.
3. The Masters - I love watching golf and the Masters is so fun.
4. TED Worklife podcast on Learning to Love Criticism. Seriously blew my mind and changed the way I think about feedback.
5. TULA day/night moisturizer. I love the way it feels and smells. It's really brightened my normal to dry skin.

1. Loving that I got called into the office today thinking I was going to be reprimanded for something but instead I got my yearly raise
2. Brunch reservations on Sunday at one of my favorites!!
3. No more snow in the forecast for tomorrow (they had been calling for more!! ugh)
4. Afternoon mommy/daughter date to A Tale As Old As Time in the theatre
5. Thinking about my DD when I told her all the "fun stuff" we're doing this weekend and how I am so excited and she said ......... "that's it"..... made me lmao, gah I love kids!

1. The Magicians - I’ve been reading this and I’m really loving it, can’t wait to go home and read more.
2. Jelly Bellys - I bought a 5lb bag at Costco and the sugar is getting me through some long days.
3. Muji 0.25 point pens - they’ve ruined me for all other pens.
4. My kids start have their first Sportball class this weekend - I love watching them participate in things like this.
5. Leuchtturm 1917 notebooks - the paper is so thick and smooth.

1. Not having the stomach bug any more
2. Finding Coke Life in my grocery store
3. Easter candy leftovers since I didn't get to enjoy the candy earlier
4. Celebrating my wedding anniversary this weekend with a nice fancy meal and red velvet cake
5. the percy jackson series (super late to the game but I do love me some YA series that are ended so I can binge read)

1. Gluten free scones with butter and jam
https://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/gluten-free-scones-recipe
2. I'll Be Gone in the Dark, by Michelle McNamara.
3. We got a babysitter for Sunday afternoon- our kids aren't going to sleep very easily lately, so an evening date was kind of out. But we are going to go see a matinee of Black Panther and pick up some take out to bring home.
4. We are "out" about my pregnancy now, so I can wear clothes without spending an hour trying to figure out how conceal my tummy.
5. Lots of robins hopping around the yard today

@josina: have you figured out how to get library books yet? Such a gamechanger!

1. Staying home with my sick baby. Work has been horrible and it’s so nice to cuddle and love on my baby when he needs me most!!
2. Rothy’s shoes. I love my black pointed pair so much! They’re pricey, but I’m trying to spend money on quality, long lasting items rather than a bunch of cheap stuff I replace every season. You can wash them in the washing machine and they come out as good as new! I’m going to order another pair for my birthday soon!
3. Nothing Bundt Cakes- we got some bundlets for my son’s bday yesterday and omg so delicious
4. Zella leggings- got a new high waisted pair in navy and I love them!
5. Decluttering- I gave a ton of clothes away that I don’t wear anymore and it feels so good to get clutter out of the house!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@mrsbubbletea: Yep! I always borrow books from the library, and usually have quite a few waitlisted. And I figured out if the book's about to expire, to just shut off the wi-fi till I'm done.
@erinbaderin: I'm reading the Magician King right now, really liking the series!

1. Getting a new job! No more sitting behind a computer screen all day.
2. Diverse podcasts during long drives. Faves are My Favorite Murder, TED Worklife, Freakonomics, and The Simple Show.
3. The sweet spot before the chaos starts up again. DDs are 4 and almost 2 and I suddenly have so much more free time on my hands.
4. My cleaning ladies. They’re doing a deep clean next Thursday, including our smudgy windows, and I am SO excited.
5. Wegmans! I go grocery shopping after work Fridays and I love (quickly) strolling through the aisles at Wegmans.
And also, leftover Easter candy.

1. Tweetsie Railroad. It's an amusement park in western NC that has a real steam engine, cowboys, and county fair type rides for kids (ferris wheel, cars on a track, carousel, etc). We get season tickets so we can go any time we want.
2. Boxycharm. Love that it's full size products, and the value is incredible.
3. Keen rose sandals. They have support, my toes are protected, and they're nice enough that I can wear them with dresses and skirts. They're also waterproof.
4. Echo Dot. We bought an open box returned one for $30 from Amazon, and it's so nice to be able to use it as an intercom instead of shooting down from the second floor. Also, it always seems like DH doesn't answer his phone when I'm out, so I can drop in and it automatically puts me in speaker.
5. A housekeeper. We just hired someone for the first time to clean our house, and it's amazing. I can see why it might annoy some people to have to do a big tidying up before she comes, but I need that outside accountability to keep our house clean. And to have the tubs scrubbed, blinds dusted, and floors mopped is just wonderful.

@Hypatia: I’ve been curious about Boxycharm. I cancelled my Ipsy more than a year ago because I kept getting the same color for every makeup sample I received. I currently get Sephora Play and while the actual products are good, the sample sizes are sooo small!
kiwi / 500 posts
@Boopers: I canceled Play to switch to Boxy for that reason! It's like, what is this, makeup for ants? The only downside to Boxy is that it's $20 instead of $10. With how small the samples were with Play, I didn't even feel I was getting my $10 worth. Every box is valued at over $100 with Boxycharm, so I'm pretty happy with the change. I think they just lifted the wait list, if you're interested.

1. Weekend at home! we're not traveling for DH's coaching job this weekend, so he and I are hoping to squeeze in a movie or date night of some kind on Saturday
2. I discovered a new season of Call the Midwife is on Netflix
3. A paper that I submitted for publication the week before DS was born has finally been accepted for publication (1.5 years later, lol)
4. Excited to try my latest goodie from MightyFix (a monthly subscription for eco-friendly products)
5. We are getting a cold-front tomorrow, which means I can wear my new jeans and not be sweating through DH's game on Saturday (I'm in the south)
nectarine / 2821 posts
@josina: so cool! I didn’t even know that!
@Hypatia: that sounds amazing! I would get season tickets too if we had that!
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@josina: my strategy is to spend an hour or so looking one afternoon - download basically as many library books as I can - and then keep it in airplane mode while I (often slowly) work through them. Figuring out they didn’t expire that way was huge!!
persimmon / 1381 posts
@Silva: I just added I'll Be Gone in the Dark to overdrive app and just waiting for a copy to become available. Can't wait to read it!
1. MAC studio fix foundation powder. Finally found a powder compact that I love!
2. TOMS slip on sneakers. Started rocking my mom slip ons this week even though it's still sporadically snowing. I can't deal with boots anymore.
3. Trader Joes cold brew concentrate. The only thing getting me through the end of this long week.
4. Storytime! I never took my kids to a library storytime before but we went to one today. It was so cute and included a craft and planting seeds to take home. Libraries are great, I need to use them more!
5. Snugglebugs consignment sale. Can't wait to hit up a consignment sale tomorrow and hopefully find some deals on summer stuff.

@silve dying to read it but know i will never sleep again (the new yorker article kept me up for a week).
1. DH took DS to school today AND picked him up so I was able to sleep UNTIL 10!
2. My cleaning service did a deep clean yesterday and it made such a difference. I am going to have them do this once every 4-6 weeks.
3. My new Hourglass eyebrow pencil and fiber gel. I am growing my brows in and this makes them look so naturally full and dark.
4. My keratin treatment has gotten to the sweet spot, so my hair is actually wash and wear (not too straight and limp or knotty and curly).
5. First doctor's appointment on Monday! Fingers crossed.

1. I recently re-stocked on sunglasses so now I have like 8 pairs to match with all my different outfits I'll be honest, I buy the cheap $10 wayfarer ones on Amazon - I like how they look and if my toddler breaks them, oh well.
2) My son is mostly potty trained which is great because after week 1, a couple weeks ago, I thought it was a waste. He is at the point where he tells us when he has to pee, he holds it, and he willingly "tries" whenever we ask him. Now if we could just figure out that poop goes in the potty, and not on the floor or in undies....
3) LO2, 7 weeks old, just slept for 6 hours for the first time.
4) Burt's Bees tinted lip balm, Red Dahlia shade.
5) Mia Adora 3D mascara. Available on Amazon for $20.

1. My nine month old crawls into my lap to hug and kiss me. I’m melting.
2. A friend knew we were having a hard week and brought dinner over.
3. Making a capsule wardrobe. I eliminated 2/3 of my items, and I’m already so happy to open my closet and only see items I really like. Now I’m going to wear this stuff for 30 days and see if there’s anything I need to fill in.
4. Glycolic acid resurfacing treatment. I bought some to use at home because I really don’t want to take the time and money to go get facials. It’s working great so far.
5. Simply Cheetos puffs. These new natural ones are seriously addictive.
nectarine / 2431 posts
1. Planning a nursery for pur baby girl. I am doing a purple floral theme and am having way too much fun.
2. DS is speech delayed and has been having a language EXPLOSION. It's amazing and so good for my mama heart. He's still behind but is making so much progress, and I am really proud of him.
3. Another vote for Jelly Belly's!
4. Being outside! While it's raining today, we've been having amazing weather nearly in the 80s.
5. Getting a very subtle bayalage done...I love it!

@LadyDi: @Silva: @lioneyes: It was so good but I literally could not read it after dark.
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@erinbaderin: I fell asleep okay last night after reading it but then I had to walk through the house in the middle of the night for kid wake ups and I was totally freaked out.
It it’s really, really excellent though.
I’m kind of new into true crime, so far it’s just been podcasts. I can watch any crime tv show. But for some reason reading about it is much harder for me. I think because I have to fully absorb the information?
But it’s so good. Her bit about her relationship with her mom had me sobbing.
pomelo / 5509 posts
@bhbee: Wait. So does this work if you've got a book out and it's going to expire and there's a wait list? Books with a wait list can only be out for 2 weeks and more than once I've been in the middle of one and lost it. If it's true that I can just turn off the wifi and not lose it my mind will be blown.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@IRunForFun: I’ve never paid attention to whether there was a wait list after me, but I’ve never lost a book either. I think it’s because amazon does “return” the book to the library - someone else can check it out for sure - but your kindle doesn’t realize it until you connect to WiFi. At least it works on my 3 year old kindle!
The only problem I’ve run into is if you have a hold come up for yourself - then you have to decide, get the hold you’ve been waiting for or keep your expired books.

@DesertDreams88: I just bought the Burts Bees Red Dahlia on your recommendation and it's great! I wish it had more staying power, but otherwise, I love it. It goes on light and is just nude enough for my DH not to object (he dislikes bright lipsticks).
grapefruit / 4361 posts
@Hypatia: glad you like it! I wish it lasted longer too, but at least it's super cheap so I have a bunch stashed everywhere and can reapply whenever

@Iced Tea: Aren't 9 month olds the best? Mine is so sweet and smooshy. I just adore this age. Also I have been trying to do a capsule wardrobe since I first read about them (so you know a few years ...). I'm hoping this spring/ summer I actually execute on my best of intentions.

I'm loving these posts! Here's mine for the week.
1. These motion sensor battery operated lights have done wonders to brighten up two of our closets and our pantry:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T1O1DXY
2. Richard Armitage (he played Thorin in The Hobbit) narrated several of Georgette Heyer's 18th and 19th century romance novels, and I've really been enjoying them. My four year old is just starting to get into audio books too, so I'm glad we have Audible as a resource.
3. Peter Thomas Roth's cloud cream is amazing. I pretty much never buy stuff at this price point, but in this case, I think it's worth it. It is unbelievable how hydrating it is.
4. I'm making my bed everyday, and I think there's a real difference in how clean the room feels when it's done. Gretchen Rubin wrote, "Outer order contributes to inner calm," and I'm trying to use that as inspiration to spring clean.
5. The azaleas are in full bloom here, and it's wonderful seeing the pops of pink, red, and purple.

@erinbaderin: Have you seen the show at all?
1. The Expanse is back on!!
2. Amazon Fire Tablet with the Xfinity App - I can watch my DVR'd shows while the kids are watching PJ Masks.
3. Kindle - LOVE reading on that thing!!
4. It's BEAUTIFUL out today!! FINALLY!! Tomorrow it will probably snow...
5. My new sweatshirt jacket that was suggested by someone here! It's so warm and comfy!!

1. The weather.
2. My office is closing early today.
3. I have a kid free afternoon tomorrow.. granted I am going to a baby shower but well.. ya know. No kids for 3 hours.
4. No roots by Alice Merton
My kiddos are TOOO cute jamming to it!
5. Alexa Dot bc she plays all the songs we love so we can jam out at dinner time.

@Hypatia: I just subscribed to audible last night! Do you think it's worth it? I also love that cloud cream!
pomelo / 5573 posts
@Adira: The Magicians? I haven’t, but my husband watches it and he keeps telling me I should - is it worth it if you’ve already read the book?
kiwi / 500 posts
@Mrs. High Heels: Yes, we've been members for a couple of years now. The only thing you need to double check is whether the book is less than a credit (if so, it's better to save your credit and buy it outright) and whether there's a Whispersync deal. That's where you buy the kindle version first (it might be free or something between $1 - $4), then there's a button that shows up on the page confirming your purchase that takes you to the discounted audio book. This page has a list of current kids deals:
https://readaloudrevival.com/audible-deals/
And this page has frequented questions about Audible on general:
https://readaloudrevival.com/audible/
One little known fact is that if you talk to customer service, you can make it so you get a credit every other month instead of every month (so you're only charged, sat, $14.95 every other month). This lets you keep access to their sales and makes it so you don't end up having too many unused credits (you can only have up to 6 credits at a time or they expire). If you fear you won't use a credit every single month, that might be for you. I usually try to save up a few credits though, so that when they have a big sale (like get 3 books for 2 credits) I have some to use.
The only other tip I would give is that you can return a book for ANY reason. If you hate the book you bought, just find the form on their website. They'll refund the credit or the amount you paid.
Is it worth it to do Audible when the library has so many audio books available? Well, you get to keep the books you buy forever through Audible, so there's that. Also, I hate feeling pressured to finish a book before it expires. And the library app to listen to books is clunky. I've tried Libravox too, and the narrators are really hit or miss. Personally, I think Audible is worth it, and I can see it becoming more valuable as our kids get older.

1. Zoli snack tower.
2. Canyon Ranch spa at The Polazzo. The stylist did a fantastic job with my hair. I posted pics on IG and some weave companies started following me.
3. Publix Mojo chicken.
4. Queen Sugar season 2 is on Hulu.
5. The one on one time I was able to spend with my dad in Vegas. It was like reliving the best parts of my childhood.
