Have you tried it? Do you like it? My boss just gave me an apricot & pecan one from this bakery that is famous for making the best fruitcake ever...I looked it up and the price is $50. (WTF?!) Anyway, the idea doesn't appeal to me but I think I'm gonna try it to see what $50 worth of fruitcake tastes like!

Ugh, I HATE fruitcake! I think it's gross. But I know some people love it! And it definitely seems like a very traditional holiday treat, although I don't know why.
That's really weird that your boss spent $50 on a fruitcake though! I hope it tastes better than I remember them tasting!

Haha, agree that they look nasty! I'm planning to slice it up later and bring it to family holiday celebrations (I suspect the older folks will like it--maybe it's a generation thing). I'll have my first taste then!

Google James Beard persimmon bread...it looks like fruit cake but it is totally delicious and so different and great for the holidays.
