Hellobee Boards

When I worked full time in a school we used to pay a dollar to dress down (yay for a jeans day!) to raise money for Relay for Life. We had stickers for people to wear and some people also donated more than just a dollar. I know a few local banks and businesses did the same. Maybe you could contact local businesses about something like that? That's the only successful fundraiser I have personally done. Our bake sale was a flop! I have seen Zumba-thons raise quite a bit of money and catered lunches for a cause at school (for teachers and staff). My favorite fundraiser locally is a touch a truck event organized by the Junior League. It's huge and really well organized. They charge $5 per person and get a great turn out.

We did a charity wine tasting event with a group I was involved in before I had kids. We got the wine donated, bought some snacks and charged $15/person.

@BelugaBean: I work at a children's hospital and the parents advisory council helps do free meals for parents once a month (I think). I am pretty sure different people or organizations sponser or make the food. They will make an announcement for all parents to head to x space for a free dinner and it's really great for them to both be cared for a little and avoid another expensive mediocre dinner in the cafeteria.

I'm part of a volunteer org that helped create the first diaper bank in our county, which is always seeking donations. A diaper drive is a great way to help get both parents and kids involved.
