I bought a metal diaper pail (Ubbi!) for the nursery but since baby will be in our room temporarily, we got a very cheap one secondhand in great condition. It's very clean and works well, but since it's plastic.... it's still holding on to that delightful diaper stank. I cleaned it with 409 and threw some dryer sheets in there for a week, but it's the same. Any tips? Or do I just have to deal with it?

Maybe just bring the ubbi into your room til you need it in the nursery? De-stinking a smelly diaper pail is nearly impossible in my opinion cuz the issue is usually the seal holding in the smell, not the container itself.

@Mrs. Confetti: nope, we need to use both rooms at different times, thus the reason we bought one. It doesn't smell unless I put my face in it, I just thought maybe there was a secret I didn't know

I bleached ours, rinsed it with the hose, laid it in the sun and sprayed Lysol after it was dry. It helped a little!

@Mrs. Confetti: YAY glad you like the Ubbi! I'm not too stressing about the plastic one since it's hopefully just temporary. I guess I should just get some nice scented bags!
