So a close friend of mine moved to London with her family last year, and she surprised me last week with a delivery of beautiful flowers on my birthday. I was so shocked and I ordered from a London florist to send her flowers on her birthday just a few days later (yesterday), and the order confirmation went through and everything... but today I checked to make sure they charged my credit card and it wasn't charged... so I emailed the florist and my email bounced back. Then I go to look for the phone number on the website and there's no number...!!! I just checked the yelp reviews and realized all the great reviews are from 2008, and someone posted a negative one yesterday saying they too ordered (for Valentines Day) and received confirmation of delivery time and everything, and flowers were never delivered. ACK!!

I cannot believe that as a professional in the industry of internet and e-commerce I totally ignored the red flags (not a great website, only 4 yelp reviews, SSL cert didn't go all the way through with my order...) I think the whole internationalness of it totally distracted me.

So now it's past 4pm on Friday in London so even if I find a local florist to place an order with, it probably won't get to her until Monday, a full 5 days after her birthday. UGH!!! Couldn't have messed up any worse. (I blame Rob Sr., who found the florist and said I should order from them. Haha.)

I'd love to send something TODAY... any ideas? I've already gifted her a music album on itunes lately, so no go there... I'm wracking my brain for ideas about e-gift cards but I'm at a total loss and frazzled by my massive screw-up. GAH!!!
