Our nanny is unexpectedly moving. It leaves us in a really bad situation but she's handled it as best she could. Our daughter will be devastated- she adores her nanny. I would like to get her a going away gift that is personal/meaningful. I don't have any recent pictures of them together. Any idea on something that might remind her of my daughter and how much she cares about her, without breaking the bank? I'm sort of stumped. I like the idea of a necklace that could be a "nod" to my daughter but I have really only found ones that seem to be more for moms. She has 3 college aged kids of her own so I don't want to step on toes.

What about a handprint ornament of your LO’s hand? Or a frame decorated by your LO? Does she have a favorite plant you could get? Or something like “thanks for being so sweet to ___” and baking a bunch of cookies/cookie bar/etc?

I was looking at this for our daycare teacher when we leave at the end of summer. I think it could work for a Nanny as well.

I'm so sorry you are having to manage this so suddenly. We are actually having the same experience with our nanny and it's awful. I like the idea of something incorporating your daughter or something she helps to make (hand-print, drawing, picture of your LO, etc) and maybe a gift card with a sweet note of thanks.
