what are your go-to gifts?
what are your every once in a while/special gifts?
we've been together 8 years (dating/married) and i'm all out of creative ideas. i've done the collages, the picture mugs, the photo frames, the cd, the clothes, the wallet, the golf clubs, trips, etc. etc. etc.
i think i might just get him a necklace or other piece of jewelry from DY to match my "push" present.
what do you do for gifts when you've been with your SO a loooooooong time.

We usually do a nice dinner. A few years, I've gotten him a subscription to MLB extra innings on DirecTV. This year was the first "real" present he's gotten in a few years, and it's a combined birthday/Christmas/graduation present...an iPad. He needs one for school, so it was also practical, but he was very excited about it!
Tickets to sporting events are also a good go-to for us! But generally, we're not big birthday people.

I'm lame and I'll draw him something... He's a sucker for depictions of old memories cartoon style. I'm not even very good at it but he loves them anyway 
Alternatively you could cook/bake his favorite meal/treat. We've been together for about ten years dating/married and we skip most gift giving holidays except for our birthdays, that makes it easier... Less times to be creative!

We've been together for almost 13 years so I've likely done them all. I've started writing down when he mentions he likes something. Then when it's birthday, Christmas or anniversary time in peruse that list.
Although in the last few years Christmas and anniversary we have preferred doing one big joint gift for our home.

Lately, my husband picks out one pricey thing per year and that covers him for all events. I still do a card, though. This year it is the freaking 3D printer!

I like doing events or outings. Tickets to sporting events, dinners, trips, etc. I was thinking about taking him Zip lining this weekend for his birthday but I will let him decide.

We don't give as many gifts any more and do dinners or experiences like concerts.. But sometimes we will give something we know the other needs.

We usually gift experiences - sporting events, food festivals, concerts, etc.
I've been wanting to do a night away at a B&B, maybe some wine tasting and an upscale dinner. But, alas, by the time we get around to that, it will be time to conceive #2.

@T-Mom: he makes all kinds of stuff, he's done model trains and cars for our son, he made a holder for my watch, he made a contraption to attach a kindle fire to the wall, that kind of stuff.
I don't like it because it is NOISY!
