We are brainstorming for transitioning to J's toddler room too.

I think for sure I will be making him a teepee - I found a few tutorials on pinterest that I will be tapping into. I want to finish that before winter. plain beige canvas fabric is cheap at joanns and they always have 50% off a cut of fabric coupons. It'd be fun to decorate the plain canvas as well.

We have a playroom, so we don't have too many toys in my 2-year-old's room. For the books and toys that are there, we have a low storage unit with bins. We also have a tall dresser with his clothes, a twin bed, and a big teepee. Most of it is from Ikea!

Oh, and Overstock is always worth a look! Especially for rugs. I almost always find everything there, Ikea or Target. Oh, and Etsy for decor! Blik has cool wall decals, too.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I love the expedit shelves from ikea. They're the perfect height for my almost 2yo & she loves pulling toys and books off the shelves! It's also super quick clean up.

@Mrs. Yoyo: did you get your teepee from ikea? I've been looking for one but never considered ikea!

We have this in there:

2 twin beds
1 large dresser between the beds against the window
small book shelf for toys
doll house
dressing table with mirror.

In her close we have hanging clothes and then an expedit cube storage below.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: actually we got it from rue la la. The brand is Pacific Play Tents. It is really big and quality! I have seen a cute circus play tent at Ikea though.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: that's a lovely color! I've heard some people say the chalkboard walls can be horrific to clean though. I may only do one section of it if it were me.

We went straight to a twin and he has treated it like a crib. No wandering. But I think I may have just gotten a cheap second crib or let the baby sleep in the RNP or PNP for awhile if we'd had less of an age gap.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: she stayed in bEd even though we have taught her how to safely get in and out.

Also my lo had not great sleep in the crib either but it has improved a ton since moving to the big bed.
