Have you heard of golden birthdays? It's when you turn the same age as your birth date. I was born on the 5th, which is a milestone year anyway. I had a huge party, but nothing gilded & gold anywhere. I'm sure my parents didn't know about golden birthdays. On 100layercake or SMP there was a featured golden 3rd bday and the touches of gold were perfectly incorporated into an otherwise feminine floral kids party.
Besides this being fun for kids I think it could be a fun adult's party too. My husband's birthday is on the 9th and I could use his 39th or 49th bday to play with the golden bday idea. Since those bdays are not milestone birthdays like 40 or 50 having a party would be unexpected. My next loose golden bday is 35. To incorporate gold maybe a 80s theme where everyone dons rope chains and four finger rings.
What do you all think? Does the gold theme unleash your creative juices? I am the same person that loves half-birthdays too.
