I'm 7 weeks postpartum and I'm definitely sporting a gut, but really? I thought this was the #1 question everyone knows not to ask. Thank you random bagger at Harris Teeter for making me feel even worse during a time when it's hard to feel pretty.

Ugh. I got asked the same thing while holding my day old baby in the hospital. It's shocking how dumb people can be.

I'm sorry! What a jerk. I hope that person learns how to be more graceful before hurting more feelings!

Someone congratulated me on having another one on the way, while I was walking with my 13 day old baby. It was just so wrong it was funny.
(At least, it was funnier than when people asked me before I was ever pregnant!)

@Foodnerd81: @oliviaoblivia: at least I didn't have my baby with me! That would have really irked me!
@avivoca: @Mrs. Coral: at the time I was more shocked that he'd said it then hurt, but afterwards it started bumming me out and I wished I'd started crying or something to make him feel bad. Very mature I know!

Yep I'm 7 weeks PP too and the ladies at the nail salon asked me when my due date was...

@JCCovi: when I was pregnant, a receptionist at the chiropractor asked me to "heave myself on back to the exam room." I reacted the same way as you...shocked. I wish I had the wherewithal to chew her out/make her feel awful.

The same thing happened to me around that time PP at Harris Teeter except it was the cashier and she asked when I was due.

A customer's child (he was probably 5 or 6) asked me if I had "a baby in my tummy" when I was waiting for my BFP. I said "no but I'm never wearing this shirt again."
The mom didn't even apologize.

I got asked when I was holding my newborn.
People are literally the worst ... and really stupid.
I've always joked that I will not ask a woman if she's pregnant unless I can see the baby crowning!

On the flip side, people keep saying I look fabulous for having a one month old. Super awkward. I don't want to out myself to every Costco employee and coffee shop worker.
Why can't they just keep it to themselves?!

@JCCovi: Ugh, I'm sorry!
I am actually guilty of this
I was about 18-19 years old and working retail. While I was ringing someone up I asked about the baby bump. She was not pregnant... but had had the baby only a couple days ago and was very nice about it.
That happened so long ago but I still randomly think about it. Sometimes (and by sometimes I mean most times) it's innocent. I have never done that again, haha.
