Do your parents/inlaws take the kids out while they're watching your LOs? Maybe to the library, classes, etc.?
My mom has been our primary care since I went back to work after DS1. It took a while for her (and I) to feel comfortable in the beginning, but now three years and another baby later; she readily takes them out (if weather permits). She also sometimes takes DS1 to preschool.

My LOs aren't in grandma care but the grandmas who bring kids to storytimes are some of my favorite caregivers. Thy are usually the ones most likely to participate with me (the storytime librarian).

My son was 2 when my parents began caring for him, but they took him out from Day 1. They also do his preschool drop off and pickup.

My FIL is comfortable taking LO out, and often picks does preschool pick up. He even bought a used mini van to travel with kids.

My mom is already planning all the of there outtings if she watches him. All I've asked of her is to try to lump her quarterly doctor's appointments on the same day to reduce the length of car seat time since her doctor offices are 45-60 minutes from where we live. Otherwise, I'm happy that she's open to taking him wherever.

Yep, my inlaws take her to the library, playground, zoo, out to breakfast, etc. I like taking her to music on weekends, but I may sign her up for another class during the week they can take her to. It breaks up the day for everyone!

Oh so lucky! My mom doesn't drive at all. So we have to do all the drops off and pick ups. I think this is one of the main reasons I am on the fence about pre-school b/c I know I have to figure how to drive LO to and from there without her help.

Yep, my mom used to drive DD 20 min on the highway from my SIL's house twice a week. Now she also does pick up at daycare that's 2 minutes away. My family has also taken Kara out by themselves for lunch & Target.

Yes! Both grandmas watch our DS 1 day a week. My mom takes him to a music class, my mil takes him to a gym class and to the library. Should be interesting when DS2 arrives in June! Hope they will still want to leave the house!

She just does preschool drop off and sometimes pick up! They go to the grocery store too but she doesn't take them to activites, I think it's too overwhelming for her even though she is very social!

All of the grandparents are fine taking him places. My in laws really like to get out with him and I am fine with that but I had to object when they took him a casino/racetrack as an infant to see the horses, I mean were they trying to kill me??!

My mom regularly takes the kids out. Up til a few weeks ago she was picking DD up from school and taking her to swim lessons. When she used to babysit her 2x weekly they'd always go on little excursions to the library, museum, etc. My dad also did, but now with DS only being 10 months he doesn't have the right car seat in his car for it

Yes, they take her out every day. They bought a car seat of their own choosing and it was never really discussed, it was just a given that they would drive her and I and they would be comfortable with it.
