This morning I noticed that my dishwasher had a "check filter" message so I figured it was like the "refill salt" thing. After wrestling with the filter for a minute, I pulled it out and found that it was COVERED in black mold! As was all of the machinery underneath. Apparently the water underneath has not been able to drain for some time, and when I realized this I wanted to throw up.

I've mentioned before that I have several lifelong allergies, one of them being...mold. They've gotten worse in the time since we've moved into this house and I've been popping Benadryl like candy but couldn't figure out why because I've been vigilant about avoiding allergens.

I cleaned the filter with hot water and detergent and the dishwasher parts with vinegar but do you think I can use bleach on the dishwasher?
