Hopefully we get into universal pre-k. We are planning on trying for another kid next year, so we're thinking that if we continue with a nanny for second LO, then we'd have her pick up LO from school.

I know some daycares around here have shuttle buses and will do pick up and drop off at the major schools

@locavore_mama: so, there is no way you'd consider just putting her in the daycare affiliated with the school? That is our plan. We have LO in a daycare we love. But, in exactly 1 year, he will go to the pre-school at another place and it ends at 11:45am. He will then go to *their* daycare and we will leave our current place. I actually LIKE the idea of him being in daycare with the kids from his "school" for the remainder of the day. Our friends (who already go there and recommended it) said that most if not all the kids stay for daycare directly after school, so they continue to socialize (which for a sahm like me, is the whole point behind sending him).

We don't have Uprek ( I wasn't even sure what that was) but FWIW my son's teacher drives him to and from preschool and we pay her for that. Any chance there's a mom or other person looking to make a little extra money to help you out?
