Also entitled: on why the 6 month growth spurt is easier having started solids.
LO has been the weeds of the 6 month growth spurt for going on 5 weeks now, and I've been losing my mind. Right about the time that she started eating all.the.time, we had to pull back from solids, which we were doing as BLW, because of her intolerances. As a result, our nights for the past 5 weeks have looked something like this: bed at 9, up at 10:45, 12:45, 2:45, and 5:00 to eat, sleep until 7:00, eat again. I haven't had more than 3 consecutive hours of sleep in I don't even know how long, and I've been making so much milk that I really wanted to change my name to Bessie (as in, Bessie the moo cow). I had actually stopped looking at the clock during MOTN wake ups, because I found it too depressing.
But last night, oh last night. We're slowly reintroducing solids, but this time as purees. She's had cereal for 4 days, squash for 2, and yesterday we introduced avocado as well. She was a super crank until she passed out at 9. When she didn't wake up at 11 to eat, I pumped and went to bed. She woke up for the first time at 2:30, ate, and went back to sleep until 6!!! I realize it could be a one-off, but whatever. I am loving life today
Just wanted to share my (small) victory! Remind me of this when I want to quit next time, k?
