My 3.5 year old wears 4T in most brands, but I know H&M is notoriously weird with their sizing. Should I order him size 3/4 or 4/5?
Thanks!

Not the same ages, but my 16 month old dude normally wears 18 month shirts (caters, cat and jack) and is wearing 9-12 months in H&M

My 3 year old is small for his age but wearing 2T in most things and 18-24 in H&M. Their stuff is big.

@Alba4: My son was right between those sizes at that age & then between 3.5 and 4 years old the 3/4 pants became too short. Hes usually around 90th percentile for height & wears a 4T at Gap & Boden. If you have a tall guy I would size up to the 4/5, in pants at least.

I actually found the size chart to be accurate.

At 36 inches, a child would be in 18-24m for H&M. That is usually the cut off for 2T in most brands, which is why everyone (rightfully) says they run big.

@LBee: It bothers me that they don't include weight. My younger son is super chunky, so it isn't necessarily about the height for sizing.

My son is small but most stores run fairly true to size for him...he's 2.5 and wears mostly 2T sizes (Carter's, Gap, Old Navy, etc...) I haven't bought anything from H&M for ages because they're so big. I think he still wears in the 12-18 month range from there for pants and sweaters but he doesn't have a lot of H&M clothes at the moment so I'm not sure exactly. I'd go into the store with his clothes to check how they measure up, maybe. I had some pants from there I loved that he wore last year and I need to go in-store to decide what size to get him now.
