Tell me about your under one year old hand foot mouth experience. I'm about 90% certain it's what we are dealing with right now with my 9 month old.

My 2.5 year old and 10 month old have it (and husband!). With our youngest there's a few mild bumps around her mouth, hands, feet, and bottom. She's a little fussy and not eating as well but otherwise seems happy. Sorry you're dealing with this too!

@Mrs. Deer: our 4 year old and husband had it about two years ago. I really hope they don't get it again. How many days in are you?

@MamaG: oldest got it first and we noticed the bumps on Wednesday. My husband just started breaking out in his face, hands, and feet

@Mrs. Deer: we started yesterday with a little rash on her stomach and a fever later in the day. An awful overnight. Today bumps around her mouth and a lot of anger at the bottle. She's also got red rash spreading on her legs and front. And her privates. Ugh!

My son had it around that age. Maybe a little older. He woke up with a fever and fussy. I saw one red bump on his foot and knew immediately. I didn't see lots of bumps in his mouth but he still didn't want to eat. We did lots of smoothies. He had awful blisters on his foot and his toenails fell off (thank god for HB because I didn't know that could happen and would've freaked out if I hadn't already read a post). He had blisters that peeled up his foot and had pink new skin underneath. We had to keep him out of MDO for about two weeks
Good luck ! Hope it is a mild case !!

@MamaG: My daughter got it twice a few months apart when she was around 1. And I got it one of those times too. It was way worse for me than for her.
Both times, hers started in her diaper area and spread down her legs, then popped up on her hands and around her mouth. One time was significantly worse than the other. The bad time, she also got blisters in her mouth. I gave her frozen fruit in one of those mesh fruit holders to suck on.
I think it was around five days start to finish when she got a mild version, and ten days start to finish when she got a more intense version.

Xander had it around 5 months (I think). He just got the blisters all over his body, but didn't have any in his mouth. It actually didn't seem to bother him that much.
I, on the other hand, got it, and the blisters on my hands and feet were soooooooooo itchy!!! I was miserable for a week.

My 15 month old son, 20 month old nephew, my brother-in-law and myself all just had it while on vacation last week! The babies had fevers for a few days and then the rash came out after. My nephew had it bad on its hands and feet but my son only had it around his mouth. My brother-in-law had the rash real bad on his hands and feet and I had it mild on my feet. The boys were definitely not themselves for a few days but it wasn't the worst illness they have had.
I would say overall the worst part is the fever and loss of appetite. I am also 10 weeks pregnant so my 102 fever had me worried but it only lasted about a day and a half.
Hope your LO is feeling better soon!

@MamaG: Im so sorry!
Somehow we managed a REALLY minor case. Fri/Sat/Sun he was "maybe" a bit fussy, "maybe" a bit warm. But in general fine. I was shocked when I got a call Monday morning to come get him for HFM. Sure enough though, he had a few spots on his feet, some on his chin and one on his thumb. Dr. confirmed and said to stay home two days. After that he went back to daycare and has been fine. They spots never even blistered and no one else in the family got sick.
