I think because my kids have been in FT DCP their whole life there wasn't much of a transition.

Homework in K was only 1 day a week and now in 1st grade its Mon-Thurs but easy enough he can do it on his own in 5 mins while I make dinner.

For DS the hardest transition was starting Before Care at his elementary school - he doesn't do well with changes and after years of being dropped off at DCP every day he was now dropped off at school -

1st grade transition was more difficult, mainly because she went from Montessori K to public 1st. Going to a completely new school environment was super hard for me. She was at her old school since 5 months old before entering 1st grade. Homework is getting harder, she was doing it up till bed time last night. First grade hw was ok though.
