I'm too scared! My DH thinks I should. I told him I will consider it after we're done having kids.

My dad did a few years ago and loves it. He had been nearsighted for all his life, and now he can see far away with no glasses at all. He needs them to read, now, which is the opposite of what he needed before, but he really likes to be able to go out in the boat and stuff without worrying about glasses.

I am going to once I'm a little older. I'm only 23 and they say to wait til at least 27

i wanted to before i got pregs, but DH was against it. he was afraid i'd go blind. i still really want to get it. i can't stand wearing glasses and dealing with contacts is annoying.

I did when I was 20--it was awesome! My eyes were too sensitive for contacts so the feeling of seeing perfectly with no glasses was surreal. Highly recommend it! Down-time was no problem.

Yes I got it done last summer - best decision ever!! I hav dry eyes when I wake up in the mornings but I put a drop in each and I'm good to go. It's so awesome being able to open my eyes and see!

I'm planning to get this sometime this year. My eyes are very damaged from years of contact wear, so my eye doctor recently told me no more contacts. I can't stand my glasses, so I guess it'll be LASIK for me!

@char54: flannels, hairy legs, messy bun and lasik.... *shifty eye*
Where do you live?

I got LASIK when I was 21, it was so easy and fast! Greatest money ever spent!

I did and I loved it! It made traveling so much easier and I loved waking up to perfect eyesight every day and shaving 5-10 min off my morning and night routines. The procedure took less than 5 min on each eye and I was able to go back to work the next day!
BUT, I wish I waited to get it until AFTER I had kids because my eyesight started getting worse again after my first pregnancy. Then I found out that pregnancy can affect your vision and it's recommended not to get Lasik til after you're done with kids.

@Mrs. Pen: My husband got it like 3 years ago and he was 21 at the time! He's only had to have 1 correction and that was like within 6 months of the original "surgery" other than that his vision is perfect and he didn't wait till 27. They told him you should just wait until you are 21

@MrsBrewer: corrected?? Did he have to do the surgery a second time? Eek. That's what I want to avoid.
@Mrs. High Heels: oh good grief another restriction?!? Ahhhh. At this rate I'll be waiting til I'm 35

@Mrs. Pen: yea he needed a correction on his left eye I think. But for some reason the correction healed even faster than the original one!

I really want it.
My mom was legally blind and had it done when I was a kid, and her eyesight was instantly perfect. It did effect her night vision though - she avoids driving at night because she sees star bursts with every point of light.
I hate my glasses (haven't worn them in months) and I misuse my contacts (as in, sometimes don't take them out for weeks - horrible I know!) so I really should get it. I'm only 22 though so I might have to wait a few years.

I don't think I'm a candidate for it yet =/
DH went for a consult and was told he wasn't either. There's gotta be alternative procedures for him though!

I did! I got it done in 2006, my eyes got really sensitive to my contacts so I wasn't going to really be able to wear them anymore. I just wasn't a glasses girl so I bit the bullet and got them lasered. Many years and a pregnancy later they are super awesome - many times I can read things on the projector screen at work that no one else can read. So I think that means they are still super awesome! Although I haven't seen an eye doctor in years to be honest.

Nope because I'm not a candidate since my vision is so bad! =(

@Arden: I was a horrible mis-user of my contacts and it got to the point where I have been on probation from contacts for a month now, pending my next visit to the D.O... save your eyes while you are still young! (sorry, not meaning to lecture, just wish someone had warned me...)

@MsLipGloss: Yep! It's the type DH got. It's correctable too (if his eyes get worse over time he can get it done again.. lifetime guarantee).

I did, I love it! It was quick and painless and I was back to work the next day!
