I wanted to have a water birth with Lo, but my OB doesn't do water births.
I also wanted the option of having an epidural. 
I've seen some videos of water births on YouTube and they look awesome.

i haven't had mine yet but my OB and our hospital does water births and i plan on having one. you can't be in the water with an epidural though. your only option would be to try the water first and then get out if the pain becomes unbearable and you feel you need the epidural.

I would love the opportunity to labor in the tub for a while at the beginning. But I wouldn't want to actually have the birth in there. I want an epidural, and the idea of the afterbirth floating around in there really grosses me out. We haven't for sure picked our hospital yet so I don't even know if a tub will be available to me.

@MamaMoose: Sad truth is, it's gross wherever you have the baby! But just labouring in the tub is fantastic for being more comfortable, you might be able to delay wanting the epidural for longer if you try a tub.

My midwives come with a birth pool, so I'll probably be birthing in one! I won't be able to tell you about it until December though, haha.
