If so, what were your symptoms?

I have not, but my sister did. She had extreme abdominal pain on one side, was listless, could not keep food down, and when she came home from school, she was gray. We ended up taking her to the ER that night and she had an emergency appendectomy the next morning

I work in a children's hospital and the classic symptoms are abdominal pain starting around/just below the belly button and moving to the right, nausea, vomiting, and no desire to eat. Unfortunately these are not very specific to appendicitis and can also be associated with lots of other things including constipation or GI bug!

My mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and DH have all had appendectomies (DH's was earlier this year). Their main symptom was the severe abdominal pain that came on very suddenly.

My stepmother had it, but had none of the classic symptoms. Her only real issue was she kept getting "stomach viruses" every month or two. Turned out it was her appendix.

@BandDmommy: let me know if you have any questions! I felt 100times worse than the flu, but we assumed I had the flu. I became very bloated in my abdomen and almost died! Emergency surgery at 3 am.

I had it when I was 9, and it wasn't severe to me. I felt achy, my lower abdomen on the right side a bit more than anywhere else, and I didn't want to eat. I went to the hospital because my mom was worried and my pediatrician told her not to mess around with abdominal pain, and I had emergency surgery a few hours later.

Really bad pain in my abdomen, fever, chills...from what I can remember.
I had it for 3-4 days before parents took me to the hospital. I think they thought I just had the flu.

Started with fever and sweats. Then I couldn't keep anything down. And then I had excruciating pain.

Yes when I was in 11 grade. I had just finished my freestyle test in figure skating and we were getting dinner/shopping after. I started not to feel so well. After returning home (we were a few hours away) I started to have intense pain. My mom called the our family doc and he said to give me pain meds, if the pain meds didn't help to head into the ER for an appendicitis. I didn't make it too long after taking them before we headed in (my mom hit every pothole on the way!).

Pain in abdominal area, vomiting, diarrhea and finally a fever. I thought I had food poisoning.
