I was a pretty impatient person before kids. At times it feels like I'm less patient than I was before kids, but I think it has actually taught me to let a lot more things go than I ever have.

It cuts both ways... I think being a parent had made me more patient but it also has underlined my impatience. Like, really highlighted it in a bad way. Like all my personality flaws pretty much!

I'm (somehow, shockingly) endlessly patient with my daughter. But everyone else still annoys me and needs to get their shit together.

@Mae: same here! I have more patience than I ever thought possible with my boys. But not anyone else!

I'm not sure..... I feel as though I have way less patience but I think in practice I just have infinitely more to fail to be patient about!

I'm way more patient now that I'm a mom. I didn't expect to be but I'm not complaining!

I've always been pretty laid back but parenthood has made me even more laid back and patient. Impatience gets you nowhere. It just makes things worse!

I'm more patient overall. But a bad nights sleep can wear me thin. Never with DS, though, just with DH and co-workers (and my mother, arghh!)

I've always been a pretty patient person and became even more so after having DD1. Unfortunately, the opposite happened after I had DD2 - I am much more prone to hormone induced bouts of impatience (PMS related) and I hate it!

Increased!! I use to be so laid back now I'm always a ball of stress.

Initially my patience was increased, but dealing with a three-nager tests my patience everyday. I'm not like what I used to be, but I'm trying to get better. Maybe turning 4 will change everything... probably not.

I have tons of patience for LO but I have literally no patience now for adults that can't get their s*** together.

Overall I would say it's decreased, but that's not a bad thing. I used to be extremely laid back about everything, and I'm not anymore. My life runs much more smoothly now! I'm very, very patient with LO if he's sick or something, but if it's just whining/tantrums/typical toddler stuff, I don't really tolerate it for long. I think it's actually helpful for setting limits, giving him structure, etc. I don't lose my temper, but I just don't let annoying stuff go on for very long now

@yin: Oh, the three-nagers.... yes, that's what's testing my patience the most right now. W will be 3 this month, but she's in a room with older kids so she's picking up their bad "three-nager" habits already).

My patience increased initially, but it went downhill again when I had LO2 and LO1 became a three-nager. I need to up my patience game, for sure!

I have always been super patient, esp with kids. So that hasn't changed much. (I am NOT patient with adults who just choose to act ignorantly however and that hadn't changed either.)

About the same, although I use all my patience in my son and there's none left for my husband. Haha! Poor guy.
"Now T, we've been trying to sleep for 4 hours now. Please go to sleep. Mommy will snuggle you."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE'RE OUT OF MILK??"

@Cherrybee: haha, well said! I feel so much less patient, but before, no one expected me to function on half the sleep I need, never eat or rest when I want to, and field 100 unreasonable demands a day.
