At the back to school ice cream social at my older daughter's preschool this year, I was chatting with another parent while holding my soon to be 2 yr old daughter. She started saying "bra? bra? bra?" - I looked down and realized she had unbuttoned my the top half of my shirt and sure enough, I was basically standing there with my bra out.

Another bra/boob story to add to the above! We were at the butcher counter at the grocery store the other day and LO was on my hip and just as I tell the lovely young butcher what I need, LO slips her hand down my shirt, cups my boob and tell me and the butcher loudly "boy I just love your mimi's!!"

Yeah, my 2 year old likes to yell "boobie, boobie, boobie!" in public places (church, etc) and try to grab my boob and get it out (he's still nursing a few times/day). And anywhere in public he sees a random person, he will point at them and yell "WHO'S THAT?" really loud. I guess it will get worse.

DH came to pick me up from work and DS's window was down and he yelled "Mama come here now! Mama sit down!!"...who's the parent again?

@bubblegum I feel like most of my 2 year old's speech is just demands. "Mommy sit right here, daddy change the diaper, get in mommy's car now"... etc etc. I feel ya

@MrsADS: DS is 2.5 but still confuses boy/girl, man/woman so whenever he sees a stranger he yells "Is that a man? Is that a woman?". It is so awkward haha.

My daughter used to call all men "daddies" and all women "mommies". We'd be in the store, and she'd point out each to me as we walked by people. "Daddy? Daddy. Daddy!" It was awkward.

A few months ago, we walked by a woman wearing a white hijab that covered her whole face and body. LO points and asks very me loudly, "Mama, why is that lady dressed like a ghost?" I wanted to melt into the sidewalk.

We were in line trying to order at Panera and I was holding my 3yo on my hip and she keeps pointing and asking what's that? what's that? to my nipple. I kept saying it's nothing but she would not accept that

DD doesn't know how to navigate crowds. Especially in narrow spaces in the bathroom. She is always darting in front of people making them stop abruptly without even an Excuse Me. I think this is one of the parenting things you don't find out until you become one-kids can embarrass you in public!!

Btw these are funny- I hope this thread has a long life.

@erinbaderin: my son does this too except will continually yell "HI GRANDMA" until they respond. The bizarre part is that we don't even use the word grandma in our family (we say it in a different language) and anyone over 35 is apparently free game to be called grandma

Most recently my oldest started laughing at the boy bagging our groceries who has some disabilities. I felt horrible about that but I know he just thought the boy was being silly and didn't understand.
I do think I was most embarrassed a few years ago when we went to a water park with a group from our town (we were new to the area so barely knew anyone) and when we were changing in a stall he said, "Mom you have a penis!" He was asking as that was the hot topic of the week but of course it sounded like an announcement!

We were at target and my 3 year old saw a mannequin with a bikini on. He started repeating, "mama! Why is she naked??" while walking over to her and then putting his hand on her boob saying "She's naked! She's naked!"
