I was chatting with another parent after dropping LO off at school this morning. He told me he heard from his son that my son invited his son to our house to play. I thought that was so cute. I am actually really thrilled that this happened because my son has always been rather timid among his peers. The fact that he initiated a playdate all on his own means he's starting to break out of his shell. I like the parents too so I think it'll be fun when we do set it up.

Yes, she did this and the parent called me right away asking if she could drop her son off. I was like uuuuh no, what? So I told DD that she needs to ask my permission first!
The boy was dropped off another day.

@Andrea: wow, how old is your LO? My DD had her first drop off play date come over without the friend's parent present recently and she's 5..
And that play date was arranged between the kids before parents and parents followed up haha :-). She started having classmate play dates around age 3.

@T-Mom: 3.5! We've had a few and they've gone ok. Sometimes it's nice not to make parent small talk. The kids just play so I don't mind.
