If so, did he like it?
Or if you're still pregnant, does your SO want to taste it?
DH has absolutely no desire to taste my breastmilk! I kinda wish he would, though!

A few times! Once just to see what it was like, and a few times when the milk smelled off and I was trying to figure out if it had gone bad. He's a trooper!

No way! He would never try it!
I don't think I did.

He had a drop.
I don't think I've ever tasted it though

He refused for the first year or so. Then when LO refused, so tasted it to see if it was off....and it was after being in freezer.
Eta. I tasted it a few times out of curiosity.

Nope. He has an extreme aversion to (cow's) milk though, so I think its more about it being milk than being from me that grosses him out haha.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
Haha no he won't.
I'm really surprised how many people never tasted their own! I felt like I had to know what it tasted like fresh so I would know if it was off. I encouraged DH to taste it for the same reason but no go.
Is it weird that I tasted a drop of my older sister's, and my younger sister tasted a drop of mine?

@Mae: I'm mildly lactose intolerant and a glass of milk makes me feel pretty crappy, so sometimes when I see DH drinking a big glass of it I'm grossed out.

Not on purpose, but I did spray him in the face in the early days.
My sister has...because LO puked directly into her mouth.

He is the good sport who tastes it when we're not sure if it has gone bad
hostess / papaya / 10540 posts
Yup, he said it didn't bother him. I never wanted to taste it myself.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: It does taste good! I don't get why people are grossed out by it.

Yep!
DS was refusing the bottle one day and DH called me and told me my milk was sour and I said "Ummm, how do you know that?" and he said "Because I tasted it before and it didn't taste like this"
I had excess lipase!

He would sooner die. He does not need to drink stuff that comes from my body :
nectarine / 2054 posts
Definitely not... I didn't either! They almost made me taste it at Heathrow (to prove it wasn't an explosive??) but I brought DS over and had him taste it instead. I don't know why, but I had no desire to taste it!
nectarine / 2878 posts
No, but I always threatened to squirt some in his mouth while he is sleeping if he pissed me off, muahahaha.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
Dude he can't wait! He always talks about it. Whenever I talk about my boobs hurting he's like, "Oo, is milk coming in?!" He is crazy!
pomegranate / 3872 posts
Yep the curiosity got to him! He was surprised at how sweet it is. I've tasted it too. I kind of can't imagine not tasting your own! I just had to lol.
nectarine / 2750 posts
We both tried it early on - we were too curious not to. I felt like if LO was drinking it all day I wanted to know what it was like. @jerricabenton: I was surprised at how sweet it was, too! I thought it would taste like cow's milk.
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
Yes we've both tasted a drop here or there. Mainly if it spilled on my hand I'll lick it off. We were both surprised at how sweet it was!
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
He tasted a little driplet. Said it was like cows milk but watered down and sweet. I licked some off my hand after pumping and I agree. Nothing special. Idk why LO can't get enough of it! Lol
coconut / 8681 posts
Neither of us have! After this thread I'm pretty curious though- i never had any desire before!
nectarine / 2217 posts
haha I didn't know it was common not to taste it!
at the risk of sounding crazy, dh loves the taste of it and has taken shots of it when I have to pump, but have nowhere cold to store it. he's like, why waste such nutritious stuff? LOL
@arden: I agree about the rice milk taste!
