I will be away for 24 hours (one day) a week for work starting next week. We have made it to 16 months and I am not willing to start pumping again.
Just curious- has anybody ever been able to keep up a nursing relationship with something like a weekly a 24 hour break?

Yeah, at that age it won't be a big deal. I know of mommas that have gone for a few days and come back and their babies went right back to nursing as always.

Yep! Your body will adapt. I have had several overnights away from LO and it never impacted my supply. Also, I day weaned my LO for the work week but nursed on the weekends for several months . . . it took a couple of weeks to even out, but it did even out. And now, at alllllmost 12 months, I have LO day weaned (including the weekends, save for the occasional demand short comfort sessions), and I still nurse her at night and in the morning.

Never had a weekly away but I did go away when LO was 17 months for 2 and a half days and barely pumped. She nursed like normal (well probably a little more) when I came back and I still made plenty of milk. I do have to say I got really emotional after being away, my hormones went crazy from letting myself get too full and my body thinking I was going through a quick wean. I know it doesn't happen to everyone but for me the hormones were really bad, I've never cried so easily before in my life - but it might have been the extent of time, I was fine until the last day.
