I almost just did accidentally! My mom and I eat at the same restaurant for breakfast every Friday. She was so excited to go walk the dog and lo after that she forgot about the bill! Luckily they caught us walking by later, and they know us so they knew it was an accident.

No, but I accidentally didn't leave enough money and they came chasing after me! (I was with a group of people and thought of all the people, why me???)...It was an honest mistake though and by the time they got me, the group had all dissipated to their respective cars in the parking lot that I had to fork over the difference.
But the waitress who chased me down was apologetic to me.

Well, does this include leaving a penny? It was totally rude of us but we had the absolute WORST service ever and one of us never got our meal!! The waitress just disappeared after giving my boyfriend his lunch and never came back to give me mine or to give us a check or to check on us! I found a penny in my pocket. We left that and drove away. We were passing through the town, so it wasn't like we would be going back but HORRIBLE HORRIBLE place!!

I have thought about it! Only because there have been sometimes where I had bad service on top of the waitress/waiter taking FOREVER to bring the check and not checking in with us.
On a side note....I went to a restaurant once with a friend and her husband and we had horrible service, the lady hardly came to check on us, it took 15 minutes to get out drinks, then another 10 just to order. We finally got out food and were too afraid to get dessert so we got some to go and it STILL took forever to just get it in a to go box! We both normally leave very generous tips but this time we didn't. As we were leaving the waitress FOLLOWED us out of the restaurant and wanted to know why we left her such a bad tip!!! OMG, can they even DO that?! My friend called the restaurant the next day to tell the manager...it was bad!

@mediagirl: lol, if you don't get to dine, your supposed to dash! We had that issue on a road trip too. I got my meal but my sister never got her bagel. All they had to do was cut it in half and toast it!

No! I was a waitress so I'm pretty conscious about it.
When I was in school we went to dinner with a bunch of students once a week, nothing fancy, well the first time I brought my now husband it was only guys and me(usually it was about 50/50). Each of the guys ended up leaving pretty quick after eating (probably because they knew me and my now hubby really wanted to be on a date but were too shy) but none of them paid! My husband was like wow, they really do treat you like one of the guys. -

I've never done it, but I was a waitress at a restaurant a few years back and a group of teens who thought they were being SUPER clever did! But guess what, one of the idiot girls left her purse in the booth! Within an hour a cop was knocking on her door. Her dad brought her and her friends back to the restaurant where the cop asked the manager if she wanted to press charges. She initially said no. Then one of the boys called her a "bitch" on his way out the door and she had the cop haul them all back in and start the process of pressing charges.

@artbee: We did leave a tip, it just wasn't a good one! I still remember we were walking down the front steps (already outside!) and she came out and confronted us, the three of us turned around, in shock mind you, but we told her exactly why! Like I said, we normally leave good tips but she honestly didn't deserve the tip we gave her, if any! She didn't have anything to say and turned around and went back inside! We are all pretty young, I think we were 20 and I hate when people just treat us like crap because we are young!

@Rubies: omg. DH and I left a $5 tip on a... $60 ticket and the ajumma came chasing after us. I have no idea why he only tipped 5. HA. but shiz. couldn't believe her.

I did once. They were taking forever to give us our check. Once we got it, they weren't coming back to take our cc. Just left. It was only 20 bucks though

I've never done it, but I've been tempted to several times before when the waiter is ignoring me and I'm trying to get the check and go. I think once when I was in College we were so annoyed we got up and acted like we were skipping out on the check just to get the waiters attention - it worked!
But the waitress who chased me down was apologetic to me.
