Just keep in mind anything with implants has to be redone every 10-20 years. Recovery is supposed to be just as hard each time.

I would love to have my breasts done, for the same reason as you. I probably won’t, though - I couldn’t justify the cost and the recovery time.

Being a personal trainer, I'm a [personal] body perfectionist. I see beauty in all forms from bodybuilders to plus-sized, but I see a billion faults in my own (BDD, anyone?). (Please note that the majority of trainers are this way and I found this out from fellow classmates while obtaining my degrees in Exercise Science and Biomechanics. DON'T LET ANY OF US FOOL YOU... We are just as insecure and human -- We just have an advanced knowledge of musculature and exercise.) I would LOVE to have a breast lift (I have 34 DDs already), Coolsculpt for my FUPA (and inner thighs) after 2 c-sections, and ANYTHING that would get rid cellulite on my butt after putting on 70+ and 50+ lbs due to preeclampsia. Exercise and diet works wonders but genetics and lifestyle trump everything. Genetics has dealt me a sh#t hand.

I have the same-sounding issues with the boobs (were almost B’s and now are sub-A’s). They are the boobs I had as a teenager. It’s ridiculous up there but I have kind of always dealt with small boobs. Through my 20-30s they got a little more reasonable in size so I have been wondering if any one has seen them “grow” back a little.

I could actually live with the boobs if my belly weren’t wrecked from my C-section. I have a small frame and always had a little waist but the cs gave me a pudge shelf...natural belly pooches over the scar giving me a roll. It’s so saddens me (and th cs was unplanned which saddens me more). It would probably be a full tummy tuck not just a mini. I’d like to spend the money on 100 other things but I’m still figuring out if it needs to be done for own well-being or I’ll grow out of caring about it.

ETA: BTW, what does cool-sculpting do? Is it just for cellulite?

Yes, but I don't know if I'll ever do it. I'd love a boob job when we're done having kids. I'm a small, droopy B cup right now and I would like to be a small C.

I don't know if this counts but I'm also highly considering Botox on my forehead. I'm only 28 but my wrinkles are already getting out of control!

Basically, it melts fat so your body can absorb it. Keep in mind, though, that while the body can not manufacture NEW fat cells, old fat cells can grow immensely large to fill a space so even after one goes through a procedure such as Coolsculpting, one can still put on a plethora of weight and "undo" all that he/she has done cosmetically.

So I'm like a 36 DDD(F)-36 G, and I've told my husband that if we have the money and we're done having kids and the breast cancer risk in my family that I just want to cut them out and go down to a full C MAYBE a small D. But I can buy bras to put my boobs where they're supposed to be, so maybe a tummy tuck to get rid of the apron from my c section(s)

If I ever get breast augmentation, it will be a fat transfer! They look and feel the most real, plus they remove fat from another part of your body so it’s two birds with one stone.

The downside is that they don’t get 100% to stick when they transfer (I think the average is like 80%) but they do try to accommodate for that in planning the surgery. Also, you can only make modest gains—going up one cup size for most people, and maybe two cups depending on your anatomy (If you want to look like Dolly Parton, it isn’t for you). Also, they usually don’t move the nipple, so if you will have improved fullness and perk up a bit, but you won’t have the gravity defying breasts that you’d have if they had cut and moved the nipple up. Lastly, we are talking about fat, so if you lose a significant amount of weight on a diet, you’re going to lose your breast fat, too.

But for me, I think if you plan it for after you’re done having kids and you are at a stable weight you’re okay with, it is the best way to go.

This is going to sound weird, but my husband looks at porn (which I have no problem with) and sometimes we will play the Are they real? game (usually he’s done some extra, uh, research to find out). I am usually pretty good about spotting implants, but with fat transfers it is so hard to tell! Not only because they look so natural, but also bc there aren’t the telltale scars you’ll see with other types of augmentation (it’s done lacroscopically).

@autumn865: mine are NAs so I considered it. But this was before kids so I never went ahead, cause I read it can affect nursing. Now I think I'll just stick with the way they are. Hopefully the size means there's nothing there to droop and sag I'm really frustrated because it's hard to wear a lot of clothes without advance planning, but I've been dealing with this long enough to figure out some tricks.

@Hypatia: I have a friend that did the fat transfer boob job, and then ended up getting a regular on a couple of years later. The fat one doesn’t lift, which is my main issue. Otherwise, I’d be in!

Before I had kids I always said I’d have a breast reduction once I was done having kids. I’m still interested but don’t know if it will be worth it for me with the cost and recovery time/ pain. It will probably depend on how much back pain I have at the time. My MIL claims she is looking into itfor herself, so her experience may color my view too when the time comes.

@josina: I've gone from small perky boobs to no boobs at all! I feel like this is why i'm so motivated to stay fit. I would love the boobs i had while i was pregnant - i wish i took pictures to look back on.

Yes, i've considered a boob job and a tiny tummy tuck for that little bit of loose skin. But overall, i can't justify the cost. And if something were to happen while under the knife, i couldn't deal with the idea that people would know that was the cause.

I personally have not even though I would love to have my old boobs back (pancake boobs after nursing 2 kids is real...)! I am a huge wuss and I can barely survive any medically needed procedures (I have never had surgery) so I can never subject myself to it

I had breast augmentation done 10 years ago (pre-kids) as my 30th birthday present to myself. Basically my boobs had gotten smaller as I got older and lost some weight. I had gone from a solid B to a full A probably. I got implants to make me a full C.

I’ve had them almost 10 years and no problem at all with them.

I would actually like to get them taken out mainly because my body has changed in the last 10 years and 3 kids. Realistically I don’t have the same body shape I did back then. I really think I have permanently widened in the hip and rib cage area. I’d like them to be smaller.

My surgery 10 years ago cost me $4,000. At this point I’m waiting until my youngest is slightly older and doesn’t need for me to carry her as much.

Pain wise I don’t think it was horrible but my pain tolerance is kinda high. I’ve also had 3 c sections so I’m not fazed by the possibility of pain. There are pain meds to help and I know it will pass.

I would love a tummy tuck but I’m more scared of that because I think that recovery is harder.

@autumn865: I've been seriously considering it. I'm a small B and would prefer to be a solid C. My husband is all for it so long as it's something I want. I just got Lasik and we also just got a new bathroom & next up is the kitchen...so...the only thing stopping me is the pause/guilt of spending money on it when we're doing so many other things. I say, go for it!
Oh, a mom at my girls preschool had a augmentation and she said it was the best decision she ever made. They look natural and she said the recovery was very manageable, not bad at all.

I would do some kind of stretch marks laser thing today, if I had a ton of money laying around and weren't a big baby about pain. But everything I've read about includes pain, is $$$$, and requires several rounds to make a difference.

But yeah, my stomach is wrecked after having my 2nd kid--it was bad but not terrible after kid 1, but really just terrible after kid 2. The original stretch marks widened and then once the baby came out, they just became.....wrinkled. It's not fun. I actually prefer the bright red fresh marks that weren't wrinkled.

Anyway, I've had friends who have had nose jobs, all kinds of filler, botox is almost a given in my circle after 35, tummy tucks, and boobs. But these are all moms in my circle, so I wasn't there for the recovery process. Everyone seems to be happy. I saw before-and-after pics of the "mommy makeover" (tummy tuck and boobs) and this is a very thin friend who had a saggy,wrinkly tummy after kids and she looks fabulous now. She wears bikinis and you can't tell she ever had a surgery at all. I can tell she has fake boobs just because of the tops she can wear without a bra, but she didn't get huge, super fake looking ones. They are a normal size for her body, just more perky than real ones would be.

I've had friends get lip filler and I could tell instantly, before they even told me. I don't know much about lip filler---it always seems like it's too much. Are you required to use an entire syringe? Is it not an option to just get a tiny bit?

Botox is basically invisible. I've had it myself, 3 times, but I just never keep up with it. No one can tell I've had it, not even my husband. I never tell him, because he's "against it" and thinks it "looks fake", but yet he can't tell when I get it. It literally just keeps you from squinting in certain ways, but it doesn't change the look of your face at all.

The fake look so many people may be noticing is probably filler--people can get cheek filler, under eye filler, marionette line filler, lip filler. I'd imagine it has the potential to be too much.

I had a tummy tuck 4 years ago. I don't remember the exact cost, insurance covered some of it because I had a large umbilical hernia that was repaired. I did it because I had a 3-4 finger diastasis that physical therapy/exercising wouldn't fix. Would I do it again? Probably, but I had gall bladder surgery 5 weeks after the tummy tuck that caused some complications so I don't have the best memories of the whole thing. The incision was also larger than I had expected and didn't get rid of all the stretch marks, but I had a lot of stretch marks! No lifting for 4-6 weeks and you walk bent over for at least a week. I won't lie, it was painful but I was a lot more comfortable after the first couple of days.

I'm about to go get varicose and spider vein surgery because I had *terrible* vascular problems during this last pregnancy. Very recently pp and think I will otherwise get my body back, but my face aged what feels like by about a decade in the past 2-3 years. I really want to get botox on my forehead at some point--I don't have cute aging Lauren Hutton style character-adding laugh lines, I just look old and sad for being mid-30s. This is pretty minor but I also got a few weird pigmented spots during each pregnancy and I'd like to get them zapped off.

@Anagram: how much is Botox? did you just go to your dermatologist? I'm such a babe in the woods with that kind of thing and none of my friends IRL have done it because they'll all single, childless, gorgeous, well rested, fully hydrated and take barre class gahhhhhhh
