Can you toss the dough like a professional? Haha.
I've never made pizza at home.
I'd like to one day!

We make homemade pizzas once a month or so. They are so easy to make!
In high school, I worked for over 3 years at a pizza shop so YES I can throw, toss, flip the dough in the air like in the movies.

I can't toss the dough like a pro, but I can make dough! I use the Pioneer Woman's recipe and its easy. We make extra and freeze it. Our homemade pizzas are really easy and turn out really good! I like it because DH and I make two and choose our own toppings.

Yep! My grandma inspired me. A few months ago we went over for a visit and she asked if we wanted pizza for lunch, we said sure assuming she meant a frozen pizza. NO. All of a sudden she starts making dough and made us a pizza from scratch!! it was so good. I don't throw it like a pro though!

I do, but I'm not a dough tosser. I mostly just press and roll it. We buy the pre made frozen dough balls as a treat.

I make it all the time! I don't toss the dough though, I just roll it or press it out.

We use PW's pizza dough recipe too (like grizz). It's so easy! We don't toss it in the air tough-- just press it into the pan.
BTW- I had X "help" yesterday, and it wasn't as much of a disaster as I thought it could be. He helped dump the flour and water into the bread maker to make the dough. Then he helped spread the dough in the pan. (He didn't like the sticky feeling on his fingers and tried to wipe them off on the floor and then put them back in the dough, so he wasn't pleased when we paused to wash his hands again, but it was fine.) He also helped "grate" the cheese-- our microplane has a plastic cover, so after he saw me doing it, I gave him the microplane and a little bit of cheese and he "grated" it (grate a few times, eat the cheese, ask for a new piece, repeat, repeat, repeat). It wasn't the easiest meal to make, but it was a fun activity to do with a 16 month old.

@red_seattle: I love it! I always make pizza on laundry day, and let my dough rise on the dryer while its running. Killing two birds with one stone

@grizz: Nice!!
Never made pizza at home. We've always ordered take out becuase for $10 and ready in 10 minutes, can't beat that. I know it's healthier to make it at home, but for our schedule. Take out works best. Maybe one day!

Mmmm I love homemade pizza! If you don't want to make your own dough, pita bread works well as a substitute (if you like crispy crust). I agree with the ladies who suggested Pioneer Woman's dough recipe. It's delicious!

I've made it at home. I roll the dough out, I'd make a mess if I tossed it!

We always say we wish we could toss dough! My SIL used to work at a Dominos and said the dough is like, special, extra stretchy, and different than homemade pizza dough, so she can't toss it. We roll ours out. WHAT A HASSLE

we make pizza about once a week! I don't toss the dough, though, LOL. my skills are only culinary, not athletic.

DH tried to help me and toss the dough one time, and we ended up having a dough fight in our kitchen haha! That totally counts, right?

yep! It's pretty much the only way we eat pizza we have the perfect dough recipe. I love to top it with spinach, mushrooms, tomato, chicken and artichokes.

We had pita pizzas last night! Easiest thing ever.
@grizz: Smart! I'm always trying to figure out where to put my dough to rise...

I make pizza usually once a week, from scratch if I have time, otherwise Trader Joe's while wheat. When I make my own I make enough to do a pizza and two calzones and then I freeze them for another day. It is so much fun to come up with different combinations based on what I find in the fridge!

I make my own dough but I don't toss it. I've never frozen extra dough but now I'll have to try it!
Part of the reason I like making my own pizza is that the only other pizza I really like where I live is thin-crust pizza with "fancy" toppings. I love it, but my husband doesn't think it's real pizza. It's also kind of expensive.

DH worked in a pizza shop when he was at high school so he tosses it like a pro. It's hilarious to watch.
Our pizza is famous among our circle of friends. It's requested all the time
