Yea! all the time. No different than any other store.

I have -- milk that went bad almost two weeks before the sell-by date, bagged salad that was slimy when I opened it, fruit that went rotten within a day or two, etc. Its super annoying but at least they've always been good about it.

I've returned rotten fruit, PB that the seal had come off of, and a glucose meter. They gave me crap about the meter, but the rest was fine.

I have returned stuff I bought too much of for parties, etc.

I don't think I've returned bad food.. Probably just threw it out and didn't think about it at the moment, or feel like it's too much hassle.

Yep, once I had bought a pork tenderloin from the meat counter and when I went to make it that night it smelled AWFUL. It had clearly gone bad. I double wrapped it in Ziploc bags, kept the paper with label it came in, and returned in the next day.

I've also returned bread that was moldy.

Yup, one time my pepper had a live bug inside it!!
Another time the produce was just disgusting.

I returned some pre-made pasta that was moldy. I was already planning a trip to the store that day so it was easy to bring it along. I'm too lazy to make a special trip though.

Yup a yogurt that had a hole in the top and a box of portioned oatmeal that had a manufacturing defect (none of the individual packs were sealed and it all came pouring out!).

Yup - moldy (hidden berries in a box) fruit and sour/curdled milk (still within expiration date). The manager exchanged them for me no issues both times.

@Charm54: I have only returned something once, but it was a 6 pack of beer and one of the bottles was half full and the lids were still securely on there--it was creepy.
I expected them to give me crap but they took it back and I went and got a new one.

Yes, I returned blueberries I bought the previous day. Once, I opened the carton I saw that they were moldy.

Yes, I have returned food a few items. They apologized and let me get my money back or exchange it.

Definitely! I used to manage a grocery store and we took stuff back ALL THE TIME. We were pretty good about looking at expiration dates and spot checking things for freshness, but things get missed when you carry thousands of products. Take it back, and if they hassle you, shop somewhere else.

No, I'm way too lazy. Getting to the store once is difficult enough lol.
