Have you ever seen a woman give birth?
What did you think?
Any crazy scenarios? In a car? Train?
I am always in awe of what our bodies are capable of. I was at a birth this morning, and cried more than the baby. I am always also struck by how amazing L&D staff and midwives are. It takes a very special person to devote themselves (so physically) to every laboring woman.

Nope. I also haven't even seen video of it. I'm afraid to, despite having been through it myself! Ignorance is bliss

As a doula, yes. 
Nothing too crazy (yet) but it still blows my mind every single time, in so many ways - the strength and instinct of a laboring woman, the way the body knows just what to do, and then just the whole, ya know, a human coming out of another human factor!! I'm also always a little surprised how NOT gross I find it all, LOL.

I was in the room when my stepsister gave birth. I was 18, there were some complications (her BP dropped to 55/28...) and I didn't want to have sex for like a month.
ETA: and I had a mirror up for a while during my own L&D.

@lovehoneybee: hahahaha I love that it deferred you for a month. If I knew at 18 what I know now about giving birth, I would have been a virgin.

Just mine. I would love to watch one! I am so curious. I feel like it has to be a completely different experience than being the one to deliver. I'm kind of jealous that my husband has seen two births and I haven't seen any!
He did tell me that my first birth was "the hardest thing he has ever done."

Not in person...and not even my own! I had a c section. But I've watched tons and tons of birth documentaries. It's so incredible to me!

I'm a NICU nurse so I've been to a ton of deliveries! I still get so emotional and think they're so special!

Yes! I was with a friend of mine during her home birth. I was her emotional support person! It was amazing!!

I voted just my own. I was with my friend and her DH while she labored at the hospital for 10 hours, but after 3 hours of pushing, she ended up with a csection, so I didn't see the baby born.

I watched a delivery while I was in nursing school. I almost passed out watching the epidural going in.

I voted no because I didn't get to see myself giving birth. With my son they had the mirror but I couldn't see anything and there was no time with my daughter. I would love to see one in person.

Just my own so far. But I will be my younger sister's birth partner when she has kids, and I'm looking forward to that! Her husband has severe vasovagal syndrome and won't be able to be there.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: DH has that, too- faints even at the mention of anything slightly medical, and he was actually able to be there for both of my births without fainting.

In person, just my own, but I watched dozens of hypno-birthing and home birth videos when I was pregnant. For me it took away the fear of the pain.
I should've watched "pitocine births with no pain meds"... That would have prepared me more lol

I've delivered 60-70ish babies myself, but that was for work. I just love the moment when the new parents meet their baby! Especially when the dad tears up. And getting to be the first person to hold their LO was pretty neat too.

Nope and when my little sister gives birth I'm still not sure if I want to see (she saw mine tho!). All I've ever seen is that glimpse from the video in birthing class!

Yes - I was there when my sister gave birth to my nephew. I just about fainted when the Dr picked up the scissors...
But I loved it and wish I had more chances to watch a birth - so magical!!!
