K hasn't taken bottles since she was about 2-3 months old. I stopped pumping regularly months ago. She is almost 11 months and I still have the very first bags of milk (including colostrum!) frozen in our second fridge.
They all just sit there. Never used. Since most are over 6 months now, I don't even think I can donate. Have you ever thrown away your BM freezer stash? I just don't know what to do with it.
* I have tried mixing even fresh BM with cereal, and LO just doesn't go for it.

I mixed BM with all kinds of purees so you use it for that. Or for oatmeal.

UGH, I'm in the same boat. LO is 6 months old and won't take a bottle so I have milk from early Aug - Dec. Seems like such a waste but what can you do?

I had to throw a bunch out because M was MSPI. I was taking medications that my Dr and I were ok with when breastfeeding, but I don't think I would have been able to donate

@Cchoi4: @shopaholic: you can donate mom to mom! Human Milk for Human Babies on Facebook - you just post what you have. I guarantee you that there will be a parent who doesn't care that it is 6 months old especially if it doesn't have ice crystals.

I did due to MSPI and other dietary sensitivities. But it only like 10 ounces so I was ok with it.

I did as it went off in the freezer. Quite possibly one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, even though she wouldn't take à bottle anyway. I put off tossing it for months - and took a picture of it first, lol.

6 months in the freezer is ok, though the "safe" rule is 5-5-5 (5 hours out, 5 days in the fridge, 5 months on the freezer).

Yep...I thought 3 months was the rule! And E would only drink the newest of the stash.

There's a recipe somewhere for making soap out of breastmilk...if you're feeling crafty.

Well... I had an appointment tonight and defrosted a bag of milk! DH gave it to her in the Zoli cup and she drank all of it! I consulted Kelly Mom and it says up to 12 months in a separate freezer and that's basically where all our BM is stored. I won't feel so bad if I can use at least some of it!
