A friend introduced me to this author when I was pregnant, and I think it has helped us a lot in establishing our family attitudes around food and feeding our baby. I'm sure it'll be even more helpful as we transition into the picky toddler years!

For me, I've zeroed in on a few key concepts:

-division of labor around food: parents decide what to serve and when, kids decide whether and how much they'll eat, no drama

-no value judgments, ”good” or ”bad” foods, or the people who eat them. I try not to say ”eat your broccoli, it's good for you!” instead I say ”yum yum, isn't broccoli so tasty, do you think it's good?” I've really had to get out of the mindset of thinking of foods in terms of nutrition, like oh that's protein, or oh too many carbs, and just focus on a positive experience around meals.

-the idea is to get kids in the habit of appreciating and being familiar with fruits and vegetables, and seeing them as a part of every meal, so no hiding vegetables in other foods or disguising them.

What do you think?
