I replace my duvets every year or so. But if the old ones are ok I keep them as backups. Towels I replace every year and donate the old ones to the animal shelter

Oh man I buy new sheets at least twice a year. DH is a sweaty guy and they get nasty.

I have had my towels for almost 10 years. I need to replace my white ones but the colored ones are fine. I also need to replace our sheets, they are white and are starting to yellow.

We got some white ones when we got married and one set was pretty much instantly yellow from DH sweat. I ended up getting dark colored sheets and a grey comforter when we got a newer/bigger bed for that reason alone.

Towels, no. I've had one set for about 8 years, one we got when we were married (4 years ago) and one that MIL gave us for christmas a few years ago. Then there's a set I let DH bring with him when we got married (I don't know how old they are and they're bleach stained, but he's the only one that uses them so I don't care). And we have a set of white ones from staging our house that I use as guest towels. We've had them more than a year now, but they don't get used often so they're still big and fluffy.

I do replace, on a regular basis. I've noticed that eventually things get threadbare, towels start to pill, they get stains that I can't remove, etc and I have a bit of a stock on hand.

I keep at least 4 sets of sheets on hand for my son's bed, I need another set for the master. I only have 2 at the moment (I didn't like one set I had).

We get new sheets on an as needed basis, but we have a pretty good rotation of 3 sets. Towels, I love getting new ones. I only buy white and I feel like they get dingy. My newest discovery is Ikea towels - they are soft and super inexpensive!

I haven't replaced my towels, they are 3 years old and I don't see a need to. This thread has empowered me to trash some sweat stained and pilled up sheets! As DH would say, you spend such a large percentage of your life sleeping in them...

Oh wow, we rarely replace sheets and towels by comparison here! We still use the towels we got for our wedding 5 years ago--one has a big tear, but the others are still totally fine. And most of our sheets are from our wedding as well--some are even older by a couple years! We bought a new set earlier this year but that was because we were running out of sets--we send them out to be cleaned since we don't have our own washer/dryer in our apt unit, and had a horrible situation where we had an overnight guest and zero clean sheets because all 5 of our sets had piled up in a dirty hamper without getting sent out (dh's job to take it to the cleaners that he had seriously slacked on!)...

We have had our towels since we moved into our old house (8 years). I just bought new towels for the guest room because I wanted a pretty, updated color scheme. The old towels are still in great shape so we are using them in our bathroom.
