Bee mentioned that someone posted to her local mailing list that their friend lost their three year old recently... he pushed through a screen on a third-story window, and fell forward out the window and feel to his death. I can't even imagine... I am not sure I would survive that experience.

Thankfully we live in a basement/first floor duplex, so Charlie can't really fall out of a window. But there's a winding staircase between the two floors, and I am constantly obsessively checking the baby-proof gate at the top of the stairs to make sure Charlie or Olive can't get past it!

Do you have a second floor to your home, or live in a building in a higher floor? Have you had a chance to secure your windows with child-proof window guards or other techniques?
