We haven't gone on "vacation" since 2011 when the ILs rented a beach house in FL.

I'm really hoping we can take a weekend trip this summer to the beach as a family / baby moon.

@autumnlove: haah we did go visit our friends in Boston for a weekend. Does that count??

@locavore_mama: I think of vacation (for me)as staying in a hotel or house without sharing living space with family or friends. So...I haven't been on vacation since my honeymoon!

@autumnlove: hahah oh no. Then I haven't been on vacation either since my HM. haha

Just short weekend trips to Boston, etc. All of our longer vacations have involved visiting family, so not a "real" vacation

We're taking LO to Sesame Place in PA in May, Washington DC in August and we're thinking about a Disney cruise just before next Christmas though - so we've got some family vacations in the works for 2014!!

@yoursilverlining: wooo where is Sesame Place in PA??? LO is obsessed with Elmo.

@locavore_mama: My LO is obsessed with Elmo, too. We went to see Sesame Street Live and met Elmo and she muckled right onto him/her and wouldn’t let go!! Lol

It’s about 30 minutes outside of Philly. It looks like they have some great meet-and-greet type activities with the characters so I think LO will really like it. http://sesameplace.com/en/langhorne/

We wanted to go to Beaches resort next winter, since they have Sesame Street characters but holy expensive!!! It was like $6800 for 5 nights; which needless to say, is outside of our budget!! :o

We took our first family vacay over Christmas.
Went to the Bahamas and loved it! Stayed in the same time zone, the flight was less than 2 hours and the kids did so well!
We've decided to go somewhere every Christmas.

This year we're thinking Disney holiday cruise or another Bahamas trip.

We go to Myrtle Beach every year - I love it and so do the kids - my mom comes with us too so DH and I get a date night

All of our "vacations" so far have been with family. Both of our parents live in resort and destination (sort of) areas. His parents live on the beach, mine live near a small, quaint town and the beach.

I'd like to go out camping in the mountains in the Fall this year. We're going to test it out in our backyard first, though.

we're hoping to take our first real family vacay this year!

@chopsuey: we were thinking of going to bahamas last year but we never made it so thinking of going this year instead. where did you stay and what activities did your kiddies enjoy most?

Not yet We won't be able to go for at least a year, I think, when LO #2 will be around a year. Not looking forward to traveling with a 3 year-old and 1 year-old!

We've taken LO with us on two trips, although neither has really been a dedicated family vacation. The first was a work trip and the second was a vacation to visit the in-laws at their vacation home. We've done lots of weekends away (drivable distances) to see my family and some friends.

This summer, we are planning on bringing LO with us on a big work trip overseas. We'll see if that actually happens though.

Not really. We don't live far from Disney, did Animal Kingdom and stayed at the resort for 4 days about a year ago, but that's not a big vacation for us since it's so close and we go regularly.

We've done the beach twice, but it was with family. And we just drove to KY, but it was to stay with friends, so no real "family" vacations yet.

@dolphin: We stayed at the Atlantis -- Royal Towers. DD loved playing in the ocean, the pools, she had fun "swimming" with a dolphin. DS had just turned 1, but he had fun sitting and playing in the kiddie pool too

We went to the Caribbean in December!

We went to Maui as a family of 4, but it was for a destination wedding and my entire family was there. They were 3.5 yo and a newborn. Locally, we've done a few days in San Diego when they were 5 and 2.

Yes, when we only had Noelle we stayed local and went to San Diego. When we had two kids, we went to Cancun - J was only 3 months old at the time so he slept through both plane rides and was really easy to travel with.

This year, we want to do something local that doesn't require a plane ride or too much money. We are thinking of renting a cabin to Big Bear in the winter and show the kids what real snow looks like!

We actually took LO to Mexico when he was 2 months old. (Ok, this was a few weeks ago... )
